Me and Whiteguy3 just finished the whole faceplate conversion.

everything works except the lights, we used a 94 soft button as the donor.

for reference, this soft button had the lighting style with the separate plate for lights.

anyone know how to make them work?

It looks sweet. We just need to get the lights behind the buttons to work. The lights behind the fan work.

What car did that come out of and what year. It looks like a Lincoln but I can't tell for sure. It looks sweet and I want one for my car.

Hey, I have that same EATC! Used my stock softbutton as the body donor.

I got mine out of a Mark VIII. It takes a little work soldering, but it's really not bad at all.

exactly what jason said.

lincoln, just used an old soft button (92-95) and soldered the round button's faceplate onto the soft button's motherboard and put them in the round buttons case.

im sorry but im going to have to do this to you. this unit does not fit in the sho.

if you see a round button unit with the vent button right next to Max a/c it is the smaller faceplate style which leaves about an inch gap on either side of it. this unit also doesnt fit into the slot for the eatc it has to be modded alittle bit.

im not saying it cant work. im sayin that even after you put all the soft button wiring into it you will still have a faceplate that doesnt fit the dash.

again, im sorry im bad mouthing your for sale ad.

No problem. I honestly can say I didn't know they made different sizes. I knew it would take modification but didn't know it wouldn't fit. My bad I don't want anybody to think I was misleading them or ripping them off. I'm sure somebody could make it work if they wanted too. I just grabbed them up and wanted to pass them on. Maybe there is somebody on here with a Lincoln.

Nice job by the way!

thankyou, and yeah i didnt know either. whiteguy3 and i picked up the very same unit that you had and put it together just like this one to put in his car and realized they made two sizes.

but if you notice my buttons say max a/c norm a/c and then vent. when you press norm a/c in my unit it would go to vent, because it is supposed to. so i took the buttons out of the unit that you have and swapped them around alittle bit.

its really awesome now. :nut:

I ran into this problem. The faceplate was about 3mm too narrow on either side. The solution was bigger washers. the bezel covers it all so it doesn't really matter what it looks like, and it hasn't fallen out yet...

Get the unit from a crown victoria or grand marquis, it bolts in perfectly. You can also pop out the round buttons and switch them around to the correct positions. You're still going to have to do some soldering though. Watch out, some have green backlight and some have aqua.
