This is my first post as I just bought 2 SHO's. A 90 and a 92 parts car.

I want to convert the sifter to the rod setup off the 92. Do I need any parts to do the shifter conversion besides the obvious shifter and rods.

Any other parts on this car that Ford upgraded that would be better than the 90 parts.

I haven't done this swap, but I am pretty shure everything you need will be very obvious.

As far as converting anything else over from the 92 it all depends on what you like. There is nothing you can convert that will give you any real hp gains. So that leaves cosmetics.

You have to cut ur cable shifter cables. pull them out. take off the shafting brackets and such. then go under the car and cut off the exhaust from the dohnut to the end of the resonator. then cut the little exhaust heatshield plate thing from the front back to like the next rivits in the thing. thats what i did. then look under the car were u took out the shield. ther are obvuios indentaiotns were holes could be made. i used a 1/2 drill bit and drilled them out. then go up top and put the golden bracket intot he holes make sure it fits. mark the inner cicrle oval shape with a marker or somthing then remove bracket. cut out the circle use a drill to get a start on it then cut it out. put the bracket in the hole make sure u have it the right way.. then go under and put up the plate with 4 holes and 2 bolts. bolt up the 4 bolts nice and snug then slide the rod shifter into place. tighten the 2 back bolts to hold the it up. connect the stabalizer bar to the tranny nice and snug and connect the shift rod. go get ur exhaust re welded witht he bend peice from your other car. not to hard took me like 15 mins.

You can also go here. They have nice pictures and descriptions. I've done this as well, and the biggest problem I had was getting the exhaust off the car to put the bent resonator in. As you notice on these instructions, they tell you to heat up the resonator, and pull it from there. I don't know how hard this would be to do, but I have a friend who had an air tool, and we just cut the outside of the pipe (not all the way through), and pulled it from there. However you do it though, it definitely is worth the conversion. Good luck!
