Jayro was kind enough to open his garage and share his time and talents to help me get the rod bearings done on my SHO. We also got exhaust studs to ypipe changed. Between the two of those things, my SHO, runs SO much smoother.
:woo-hoo: Seems to run like a new car, so much quieter now.
Probably more the y-pipe being able to completely seal as it should. Had one front stud broke off, and some crappy rusty hardware holding it up.
Here are some pics of the dirty oil pan soaking in Easy Off (my new best friend)
Now, the clean pan...
The rod bearings below are in order 1-6 left to right, top came off the top of the rod, the bottom came off the rod caps. None of them except for #6 really showed any deep wear. Plastigauge showed about .0015 on journals #2 and #5. Not too bad for 160k miles on this motor. Just at the right time, too.
Thanks again goes to Jayro and Bubba's help, it was huge, made the job a lot easier. :thankyou:
Oh, and Jayro's wife makes some killer chicken salad
:thankyou:
