Back in August before coming out to school in Michigan. I took my car to Fred at NESS to have my rod bearing changed and my cars 2nd 60k. This was basically preventative as i didn't want to have some sort of blown motor while 1000 miles away from home.

When i took it in, the car ran quite well and impressed me with every blip of the throttle. There has been extensive maintence done to the car already.

Fred changed the rod bearing and there was almost NO wear whatsoever. He also did another 60k to the car.

With these things being done I picked up the car and drove it home. WOWZERS what a noticable difference, the car felt like it came to life again. I reccomend anyone that hasn't changed the rod bearings or had the car 60k'd to do it ASAP. You will be thankful you did and so will your car.

My car will easily walk away from a Modded non-maintained SHO.

Fred did my rod bearings and fuel pump. The car did feel ALOT smoother afterwards. thumb to Fred and all the services he provides to the SHO community.

BWAHAHAHAA! Chris called me after the "incident" Mike. :) Something's up with that Mike, because I've seen stock GTPs in the 14's & repullied / lightly modded GTPs faster than that.

Seriously, thanks for the feedback, but I think Chris was posting mostly for the "PRODUCT FEEDBACK" of having a 60k / Rod Bearings done, rather than the VENDOR FEEDBACK. wink

FYI to those who don't know, rod bearings aren't going to increase performance, just potential longevity of the engine. Every V6 owner should consider putting maintenance of the engine on their budget, whether they do it themselves or have someone do it for them.

It's all the torque curve...

You could go grab one of the 12 second or 11 second GTPs and I bet you'd still walk it from a roll.

The car's low E.T.s some from amazing 60 ft times (For a FWD car), and all the low end torque.

From a dig, I would have spanked young Christopher like there was no tomorrow... but you know how sore losers sound. "If I would have done this" "But I didn't do that" So I'll shut up until our next rematch.

Vengence will be mine!

Oh yeah, and NESS is a great vendor. :D

How much should I look to spend on the 60k maintenance? I'm just curious, I don't even own an SHO yet (But I do have a 99 LX, if that counts for anything). I think this is probably my first post, as well.
