Now, I've got my 3.2L block and wanted to get some Rod and Main bearings and Rings. Now for sure I know the 3.0L and 3.2L will have different piston rings, but the question is are they different rod and main bearings? I can't seem to find anything that would say otherwise.

Thanks a million. We had ordered the parts, but the shop told us it was more money for the 3.2L rod and main bearings, so we can go back and bitch tommorow over them trying to make more money off of us.

Only thing different is the connecting rods themselves. Apparently the 3.2 has beefier rods, to handle the additional torque.

Most people use the Clevite rod bearings, I think it's CB1435P, about $7/set from Napa (6 sets required, obviously).

I've only heard of a couple of people even touching the mains. Usually they take a peek and they look brand new, so they leave them alone.

Good luck!

I agree, but if you have the engine on a stand, I don't see any reason not to make it brand new either!

Well pulled of the Main bearing closest to the crank, and the rod bearing next to it, just the lowers so far, both have quite a bit of wear on them, and this engine is supposed to only have 130K Kilometers on it, or around 80K miles. Guess gonna have to change out both.

Well as for costs, couldn't tell you, My dad has a garage so I get all my parts pretty cheap.

Although PLEASE DO check the MAINS, even a low Km engine may have wear.
