Section 03-01B-41 under the lubrication system the bible lists a relief valve spring as to which its (force @ length) is 34.5 lb./in. Now, I've taken apart a 3l oil pump before (gerotor) and failed to locate a spring, although I wasn't looking for one I'd think it'd be obvious. Can anyone shed any light on this oil pump relief valve spring?

So..my question is, can this spring be replaced with a different (firmer) spring to increase the oil psi threshold?

Yes,

Todd Cook of TCE fame mentioned that it could be done with a washer or two. To really do it right, you should use a tensionometer with a spring compressor adapter to measure spring tension before (stock) and after. Take yours apart and let us know what you find.
