I'm trying to perform the upper 60K on a 94 ATX. I've got all the vacuum hoses, and coolant lines disconnected, as well as all the bolts loosened. I can't for the life of me remove the blasted ground strap. I'm using a 15mm socket on the nut, but I can't get a wrench on the bolt. Any ideas? Also with the EGR valve, am I removing it from the intake, or removing the nut that connects the valve to the line (if that makes sense). Thanks!

As for the ground strap. you may need to put wrenches both on the nut and the stud at the same time to get the nut loosened. It's a tight fit in there....

As for the EGR valve, I always remove the valve from the intake and just leave it hang. Just make certain you have a replacement gasket on hand. Don't forget the clean the EGR ports while you have it apart.

I can get the nut to turn with the socket. The problem is, I can't get the wrench on the stud to keep it from moving with the nut, as I turn it with the socket. Always the small crap, I swear! As for the EGR, I'll do just that and remove it from the intake! Thanks for your help!

I thought of that too, but it seems as if there's a wiring harness that's kinda wrapped around it. I'll go take another look in a couple of minutes, but thanks for the suggestions!

even if the harness is wrapped around it, you can just slip it through.
