Well, I just crossed 2000 miles on the 2015 SHO so I am thinking about doing the first oil change. Well, supposedly the dealer did one because they had the car for over a year before selling to me but I am going to
do it so I have a base line. Anyway Autozone has a sale on Mobile-1 5w-30. 5 qts. with an STP XL filter for $30. Think I will upgrade to the Mobil-1 filter for $5. Anyway, wish me luck. Hopefully the dealer didn't torque the oil drain plug too tightly. Also, these cars have really small filters. Has anyone found a larger volume filter that will fit?

Good choice of products! I think the filters that are on there from factory are a bit larger, but IIRC Mobil does have one of the larger capacity filters, probably Royal Purple as well. No one I know has testfitted/is using a larger capacity Motorcraft filter on the Gen 4 SHO.

I was using the Mobile 1 filter and switched to the Motorcraft FL-500S filter. The engine at start up with the Mobile 1 filter seemed 'rattle' for a few seconds. The Motorcraft filter has cured that. Just my personal observation. Also, if you go to the Mobile 1 website, they have a cash rebate on their oil and filters.

Just did mine and BJ's (if you have one) was cheaper on six quarts, I don't think your going to find a oil filter big enough to make any difference. Its my understanding Ford dealerships all use a synthetic blind with there oil changes so if your at 2000 miles you have a ways to go before it has to be done again. The dealership (and everyone else) will tell you its not necessary but I would service the PTU and get a baseline on that.
