My friend bought a 96 SHO. The kid that he bought it off had an audio system in the car...when he took the audio out the radio didnt work anymore and now its bugging us because we cant figure out why the radio doesnt work. The kid spliced the wires in the trunk to hook up the module for the RCAs. Any help is appreciated.

P.S. weve checked most of the fuses that have anything to do with the radio....

Do any of the radio displays work? You need to check the connections behind the radio/climate control and you will need a wiring diagram of the order to connect to the unit in the trunk. Is the stock amp still in the trunk?

there is no display on the radio. The only thing in the trunk is the silver box where the wires plug in for the speakers and whatnot(i would guess thats the amp but i can be wrong)

That silver box in the trunk is the radio, yes sound a little weird but thats what it is, the front fotball are just the controls of the radio; make sure that all the connectors are in place in that silver box.

My best advice is to find another owner nearby so you can see what goes where to get everything working properly. SHOZ123 may be able to get you a wiring diagram of what color wire goes where.

The 'brains' of the radio unit are actually located in a unit in the trunk. Make sure the wire harness is installed in the back of the stock radio unit in the dash and then move on to the trunk unit and sort out the wires. Sorry I don't have enough wiring info to be of more help.

Also check over on the TCCA forum. There are more members there that have monkeyed around with this particular head unit and might have more hands-on knowledge.
