Actually I read on the shoclub writeup that Champion labs uses different media for both. It just looks the same. The mobil 1 media is biased towards slightly finer filtering. The K&N is biased towards maximum absolute flow. They cost pretty much the same. I think the mobil 1 is probably best for the street but that 1" nut on the end of the K&N sure is sweet.NWGRN94MTX:

The Mobil 1 and K&N oil filters are built in the same factory, Champion Industries. They have the same media on the inside. The Mobil 1 as a slightly better burst strength on it's outside shell. Both are rated very good. I used K&N's until Auto Zone opened up here last year, now I use either one.
