Hello all. I have a 2015 sho non pp. After reading up on many ptu horror stories, I mentioned it to the customer service rep at the dealership I use, Pundmann Ford in St.Charles. The rep told me several times that he didn't think my car had a transfer case, but he later redeemed himself when he mentioned our conversation to a tech. The tech showed him the transfer case and then subsequently discovered that it was leaking. Its been there since Friday, should be done by Thursday. They're waiting on a new ptu. Rep was very apologetic and seemed embarrassed, but hey it happens, at least they caught it. They gave me an F150 loaner car, no complaints here.

Glad they are taking care of it. You gotta find the right guy that knows the SHO and Ecoboost. One dealer that is not the closest, but the master tech drives the SHO and he is the man when you need stuff done. My local dealer told me they would go to him so will be doing that after the new PTU is in.

I'm also eyeing a left behind 2018 SHO that has been on the lot for a while.

Good luck and happy you have a good dealership

I go to that same dealer and a little surprised as I've always had good knowledgeable service there. I've go a 2015 as well with the pp and so far I've not had any leaks. Keeping fingers crossed.

I have no issue at all with Pundmann Ford. On a side note, I hear that Aamco will do a PTU change for around $80.00. Would that void the warranty if Aamco did it every 20,000 miles and another PTU issue comes up that Ford should cover?

As long as they do not cause the issue and are using quality fluid you should not have a warranty issue. I recommend Redline Shockproof. I may look into this myself as most places around me don't want to touch it or what to charge a left arm for the job.

so after 6 days I have my SHO back. Acceleration is much quicker. The comments on the paperwork stated that the ptu oil was black and filled with metal. My extended warranty is up at 60,000 miles, I am at 55,000 now. It'll cost over $2000 to cover for another 60,000, if I keep the car I will certainly buy the extension.

Look up here or eccoboostporformance.com how to change with a pigtail. Basically you let it out by drain plug. On the top of the ptu is a vent pipe, extend this with some hose to suspension close over put back in breather plug and tie to hold with nylon tie. Use this to pour back Amsoil **** exactly one bottle. Easy peasy can do it every spring or when ever you want...

The metal is probably from breakin. As long it was fine and not gritty or chunky, should b good.

Thanks for the note about Aamco. Mine's a non-PP 2015 also and I've been meaning to get the PTU fluid changed but wasn't sure where to take it. I've asked at a couple places and got a "deer in headlights" look. I figure it's a very bad sign if they know less about it than I do (which is almost zero). :)

Hundred bucks for the fluid change at my local Edward's. Told the guy I would even print off the instructions to make sure it is done correctly.

It covers engine and all the driveline components. You can look that up but those are the big stuff to me.
