To all SHOGurus,
I just completed the job of replacing the heater and evaporater cores in my 1989. As you know, a big part of this job is R+R'ing the dash, during which you must disconnect/reconnect most of the dash electronics.
Well, after completing reinstallation and hooking the battery back up, everything works fine EXCEPT my interior lights won't turn OFF! The only way I've found to get them off is to disconnect the dimmer switch which was working reasonably well when I started this job.
When connected, the dimmer switch does dim the instrument panel lights as expected, but does nothing to turn off the interior/dome lights. Even with the dimmer switch disconnected, the interior/dome lights do turn off and on when the door opens, as they should.
Anyone have ANY ideas about this circuit and where I may have goofed? Might I have left a connector off somewhere else, or damaged the dimmers switch somehow?
ANY IDEAS appreciated.
Regards,
