My '99 SHO has 3 windows that do not operate. Driver window is fine. Passenger window is very, very slow, only moves about 0.5" then stops. Both rear door windows don't even move.

When I try to use the window switch in both rear doors, I can see the dome light dim as if there is current draw trying to fire the window motor. Does that mean the problem is in the 4 gang window switch in driver's door?

I saw a post either here or on Taurus form about the wire loom going through the driver's side door can break wires sometimes that would cause windows to become non-operational. I haven't had a chance to open up the door cards to take a look inside to do any continuity tests w/ multi-meter.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks!

The passenger window motor is likely bad and/or the regulator is dragging.

The light dimming shows that the motor is drawing current and likely stuck. Rear windows are rarely used and subject to that. As an experiment, hold the switch in the down position and slam the door. If you are lucky the window will work.

Texas Marauder: You are a FREAKIN' GENIUS!!! Slamming the rear doors while car on and holding down the power window switch on the door dislodged the window sticking enough for the motor to wind and lower BOTH windows!!!

Only the passenger window was still reluctant to come down, but it DID get a little further down, so I'll have to get into the door card and grease those tracks like you said.

THANK YOU for that great HACK!!!

Alot of the time there is dried up grease inside the window motor housing. I remember rehabbing posts on that a long time ago with pics.
