Problem after startup

My 1994 ATX ran pretty rough right after start up. The tach needle jumped around 200 RPM's to 800 RPM's. I gave her enough gas to reach 2000 RPM and let off the pedal. The car returned to 800 RPM and idled perfectly. Just out of curiosity I pulled the codes and it returned 122: TP sensor circuit below minimum voltage. But the car was acting as if the car was having trouble getting fuel. Do I need a new TP sensor? Any advice or feedback is greatly appreciated.
