So I bought my 2013 SHO about a week ago, and in the pre purchase inspection a turbo line leak was found. Since then I took it to the ford dealer, and they are telling me I need to fully replace the rear turbo. The turbo seals were done 40k ago at 120000kms so it would be surprising if it is already leaking. I’m taking it for a second opinion tomorrow, but wondering if it’s possible that the dealer is trying to replace the entire turbo just because the turbo lines or possibly an 0 ring is causing the leak. I asked the previous owner about this and he told me to take it to a reliable mechanic instead of the dealer, so curious if it is common for the ford dealer to push for extra repairs just because it may be easier for them to replace the entire housing rather than repairing it.
