I have a professionally polished intake for use on a sho(w) car (lol). The outside intake ring is polished to chrome finish, the inside is powercoated black, how much would this intake sell for? I created an account here to ask the people who would be buying the intake.

Thanks
C.J.

Moving this thread to Wheels, Tires, Interior, Body, and Cosmetic Mods.

In regards to how much it's worth...that would depend on how well the polishing was done, if there is a protective coating over the polish work and a person's personal preference as well as how much they "want" something like that.

My tanks were polished, coated with 2 coatings (ceramic and a heat dissipating coating) and my runners were powdercoated and then coated with the same heat dissipating coating as the tanks. Total cost: $300 Was it worth it? To some, no. To me...absolutely...it's exactly what I wanted, done to my specifications and I was willing to pay for it.

Also, just as a gentle reminder since you're new...if you decide to sell this...a classified must be placed for it as sales are not allowed outside the classified sections. wink

When I bought my car it had a polished intated on it. The guy I bought it from paid 400 dollars at a local shop! I wouldn't have paid 400 but it does look really nice sitting on top of the motor! I've be known to drive around with the off before thumb (I was picking up a hood for my sable and couldn't get a truck so I took mine off and put the other one on!)

I only charged $75,and you`ve all seen my intakes.Polishing jobs aren`t worth too much,it`s the hourly labor rate that kills the price.I priced it fairly at $75(later upped to $100) because that`s what it`s worth outright with no overhead.
Fwiw,i have polished aluminum profesionally for 11 years.
