Hey guys I was wondering if anyone on this forum has ever done a functional headlight mod. As the weather starts to warm up I’ll see my iat’s soar upwards of 150 degrees. Even with the EPP cold air intake (and a seal I put around the metal edge of it to block engine bay heat from entering) I still can’t seem to find a way to bring these temps down. And I know the Sho’s are known for their heat soak so this is why I am asking this question. Now grant it this is also for cosmetics, but if I could keep these temps down over the summer that would be great. I know most people who do a headlight intake will drill a circular hole in the headlight, but I can’t find a way where I would be able to retain both the blinker and headlights without making it somewhat rectangular. I attached a photo of the rough area where I would plan on cutting, but I would like to hear some insight before I go hacking up my headlight. Thanks guys!!IMG 7620

Check out this thread. Not a headlight mod, but pretty cool.

That should have been how EPP designed their $700 intake initially looks good though, I may go that route too

Personally, this is probably the last thing I'd ever consider for my air.

Just spitballing here without looking at my own car, why not pipe it in from the edge of the grille? if you go in at the corner near where the bumper comes up between the grille and headlight and run a duct. it would be a short duct with a small bend but ultimately a straight shot. I live in FL and the AITs get stupid here so I'm working on a solution for myself.

I tryed something similar by adding 2 inch hole in the side of the bottom half of the factory airbox then ran a short 90 degree pipe to the back of the headlight. No change at all in performance, ait, or anything at all. But it did manage to let more water vapor into the air box lol. So i undid it all and plugged the hole i made.
