Hello. Can anyone tell me if the moisture in here means I should just get a new headlight housing? The Xenon hi/lo bulb is no longer functioning inside this housing. I don’t want to put a new one in and it happen again. Anyone have any suggestions? My 2015 SHO lives in Anchorage, Alaska and gets garaged almost every night. Thanks!

Are there visible cracks anywhere? I would consider another housing if it was still available. Maybe this one is able to be funky rigged to prevent moisture if you can see something obvious.

Wondering if perhaps any of the bulbs in that assembly have ever been changed out since it rolled off the assembly line?

Head, turn, or marker.

If so, I'd check to make sure that they're seated correctly (gasket mated up against the rear of the assembly).

Start there 1st.

I don’t see any cracks on the exterior or what is visible under the hood….but I’ll have to remove it to check the seals like I read below. Where I live, the roads get pretty rough with uneven ice and snow…I wouldn’t be surprised if I discovered something like that. Thanks for the reply and I’ll update when I can.

I honestly couldn’t be sure. This is my third Alaskan winter with the SHO, and it was a fleet vehicle before I bought it. As soon as I do a little research, I’ll garage it and take apart the housing. Thank you for the reply! I’ll be sure to update about the seals

Forgot to add too, it wouldn't hurt too take at least the turn signal bulb out (probably the easiest) and use a hairdryer aimed into that opening in order to dry out the interior of the assembly and start from a dry perspective.

Can't tell from the picture, but moisture, as in fogging that clears when the headlamp is on is considered normal by most manufacturers. Standing water is not. If, and when it's time to mess with it, if you have a local dealer, see if they stock the bumper cover to fender retainers. It takes all of 15 minutes to pull the cover off to access and remove the headlamp asm and verify things like seals, vents, etc. The damn cover retainers are inexpensive, but prone to breaking so it's nice to source ahead of time, but it's not the end of the world to replace after the fact if you need to. You can pull the cover off, or at least loose on the problem side and have the whole lamp sitting on a table in front of you in 20min or less. .
