Oh my god! crazy to think what a little buffing will do. Im guessing you need a good buffer, tried doing my back bumper which isnt half as bad as your trunk lid (no offense :p) and minimal difference, was using a much smaller, apparently cheaper buffer then that one, and normal car polish turtle wax? Maybe its because im plastic and your metal, dunno, either way, looks like you guys had a great time! :thumb:

It wasnt as bad as the pic showed, the pic was after Chris (hunterVf) had scuffed it up with a quick wet sand, then he used a buffer ( as seen in the pics) and some kind of buffing compound..... it did do a world of difference but the before pics were brefor buffing and after wet sanding.

That ladder was the best! Good thing we didn't end up with a blurry sky shot with a bunch of blurry SHO's followed by a thread titled:

Hey guys great meet, good to see some people again, and meet new people. It was fun working on Matt's POS but we got her fixed. Never would have thought what Chris did would have worked on shopower's trunk. Thanks Tim and Mandy for having this meet hope to do it next year sometime.

Tony

Ill post some pictures when ever i can figure out how to do it. Think that I have to get a photobucket.

so here's my resized contributions....

how many people does it take to clean one of the nastiest intakes and valve covers I've ever seen?

Bill making an engine VERY happy...
Sept2techmeet019

At this point, it took 5 people to figure out what was really lurking in the engine bay.
Sept2techmeet011

I promised Chris and Steve that I wouldn't make any primate having relations with a popular sports object comments, but c'mon, guys...how long does it take to reassemble an intake?
Sept2techmeet010

It's a beautiful thing......kinda like looking at Jessica Alba standing behind Bea Arthur and Kathy Bates

Ahhhh...a man and his grill....tis a beautiful thing. We couldn't get Joe away from the food all day long.
Sept2techmeet004 1

Sho owners and food......kinda like, peanut butter and jelly.
Sept2techmeet002 1

Chris, screwing up what would have otherwise been a perfectly good picture....
Sept2techmeet014

And a great day was had when I didn't have to patch chris up, though I thought for certain I'd be getting the first aid kit out while he was trying to scrape the old gasket off the intake with a razor blade.....and then the Ladder of Death.....yeah.

Unfortuantly, we had a casualty later in the night. Initial reports make it seem that the SHO powered 626 dropped a valve. Apparently they were racing Blue2ndGEn (bruce) when it started smoking REAL bad.....and yesterday, nick was telling me of oil in the tailpipe. No rod knock...just smoke and oil.

So...who wants to donate a 3.2 block and bottom end to ressurect this monster?

Back in Michigan ... again.
I went ahead and merged the two pic threads in preparation for my own deluge of pics and vids

Wouldn't be a SHO meet if we didn't have a parking lot repair en-route. Here's SHOpower17 installing a new tail light while we were waiting for the late arrivals in Ann Arbor:

Joe demonstrating his in-depth experience with weiner manipulation. Note SHOpower in the background... not sure if he's grossed out or slightly turned on

We like our food SPICY. *** Habanero pepper sauce and yes, Hemmorhoid Helper Habanero sauce
