Has anyone ever seen this before? and if so, does anyone know anything about this setup. I've only seen it on this individual car. I was wondering if anyone else had ever attempted this.
Does anyone know who Doug Lewis is?

I forgot about those setups. I don't think I ever saw one in person, but jackshaft would not be an option I would want to use.

Looks like it would be simpler to move the battery and mount it in that space. You could then use an intercooler & nix the stupid looking jack shaft. Not a big super charger fan, but if I were to have one I would definitely want an intercooler. Just a thought though.

I always liked the jackshaft setup but agree the shoshop design is easier. Ive heard the jackshaft setups tended to have problems with the jackshaft bearings wearing out prematurely. I don't know for sure about Doug's kits but there are other ones I've heard of wearing out bearings every 3k miles or so. I also found vortech produced a supercharger kit that was similar for the contour I think? Im not positive what car it was anymore but whatever car it was they had problems with the coupler between the jackshaft/supercharger. They ended up coming out with a revised design that was splined instead of having the standard keyed shaft. That being said i did a lot of research about that design about a year ago and I talked to Doug at FPS as well. he said he would still make a kit but urged me to go with their turbo kit instead. More power, same price. I personally don't like all the piping involved with the turbo kits available so I ended up with shoshop style blower anyway.

Well, how do you like it? Do you have pics? Is it the same design as in the video posted above? Very curious about the forced induction on a SHO, or any engine with the dual runner intakes.

Mines the counterclockwise design that mounts where the battery was. I haven't officially showed off any pictures of my build cause it's not "done" it's all together and runs and drives I'm just waiting for the guy I'm having tune it to get back to me. I've been waiting to tune it so I can post a thread with pictures and dyno numbers and such so I don't have any pictures on my photobucket to post up yet. If you want to send me a pm I can share some of the information I have gathered during my project and text you some pictures of my car.

Who's tuning it?

Vortech never produced a kit; SHO Shop used a Vortech blower in their setups.

Having had a supercharged SHO for many years and having been apart of the old remote turbo SHO and tuning it, as well as tuning a SHO with an EFR 8374 very recently, I would absolutely go turbo if I were to go through this on a SHO again. Wait till you see what the belt does to the top-front main bearing. If it's tight enough for not slipping, it's wearing the that main very quickly.

Adam at pops racing. I have a tweecer RT and thought about tuning it myself but tuning isn't really my thing and I've heard really good things about Adam. so he's supposed to tune hopefully in the next week or two and then I'll probably use my tweecer on another supercharged ford I have or sell it.

It's water/air and nope, hoping I can be safe with premium pump gas. I think with the injectors I put in it I would have enough injector to run e85 but I don't even know of any stations around me that sells it so I'm planning to stick with pump gas. For now... I'm not running to much boost either. Compared to others on here anyway. It's a lot to me. Lol as always everything will probably get turned up in the future but I tried to get enough pulley to be relatively safe but keep me happy with my boost level for a while.

You sound like me about 11 years ago. That first shot of 10+ PSI will have you not wanting to go less (my first pulley was 'supposed' to be 6 PSI). Additionally, 10 PSI on these motors increases power quite a bit.

I did 438whp on 91 octane up here with water/meth injection and no inter/aftercooler back in the mid 2000's. There's quite a few E85 stations here and I'm betting you'll eventually want to run it as it's safe power. :) Where in CO are you?

If you ever want to get tuned on a dyno to find out where the car wants to make power, let me know.

Btw I didn't see the other half of your post earlier. I agree turbo is the way to go in a lot of cases. I personally don't like the way they have to be set up and wanted a blower so that's what I got and that's what I have expirience with.

Most of the time I don't drive the car enough or hard enough to really have most of the problems associated with them and did everything that can be done to combat belt slip + I have main bearings and rod bearings in stock for down the road when it needs them.

I'm expecting the car to make somewhere in the range of 10-12 psi so I'm already there. I'm running 5 psi on a truck I supercharged and I can already say the blower on my SHO is going to be a lot more impressive once it's tuned right.

I'm in golden. where are you you at? Do you have a shop somewhere here?

I put in an additional idler pulley on mine that basically gave the most belt wrap possible, in addition to a Reichard pulley. I still had to tighten this crap out of it. 10-12 PSI should be around 400whp, corrected. What size injectors are you running? I assume a 255 lph pump and adjustable regulator?

I am also in Golden (Coal Creek Canyon). No shop.
