I always liked the jackshaft setup but agree the shoshop design is easier. Ive heard the jackshaft setups tended to have problems with the jackshaft bearings wearing out prematurely. I don't know for sure about Doug's kits but there are other ones I've heard of wearing out bearings every 3k miles or so. I also found vortech produced a supercharger kit that was similar for the contour I think? Im not positive what car it was anymore but whatever car it was they had problems with the coupler between the jackshaft/supercharger. They ended up coming out with a revised design that was splined instead of having the standard keyed shaft. That being said i did a lot of research about that design about a year ago and I talked to Doug at FPS as well. he said he would still make a kit but urged me to go with their turbo kit instead. More power, same price. I personally don't like all the piping involved with the turbo kits available so I ended up with shoshop style blower anyway.
