Ok, so I pulled off my Throttle body while trying to track down a pretty significant coolant leak. It went as expected until I had to remove the PCV hose from the bottom back side of the throttle body. That was an interesting adventure. Totally baked on and degenerated rubber. I pretty much massacred the end of the hose.

I assume this is part is pretty much unobtanium but im hoping someone can point me at a replacement. I checked the wiki and SHO parts, none listed.

Any help is appreciated.

Car is a 95 ATX, bone stock and it appears the 60K was completed at some time in the past. I plan on completing the 120K here in the near future.

Thanks

Rick

I'm not seeing anything part number to cross ref: E9DZ-6A664-A
You might have to go used or find something similar that can be adapted. --> THis would be a useful discovery going forward

Just get some 5/8 bulk hose from the parts store. It's nothing special. You have to remove the intake to get to the other end.

Huh. Tells you how long I had to deal with any of the TB pcv hoses. I am picturing formed ends but that is likely from my coyote f-150.

Nope, it's just hose held on with spring clamps. I actually have the hose running down under the car venting to atmosphere and then have the TB port capped with a silicone cap on my 3.4 95.

It's actually closer to 9/16" but 5/8s works fine if you use a worm drive clamp.

Yep i figured the intake was going to have to come off when i mangled the PCV hose getting it off. I am attempting to find a cooling system leak thats coming from the area under the throttle body. Ill attach a picture just for fun. I hate starting down the rabbit hole of wanting to replace the valve cover gaskets and all the other gaskets that are starting to leak. But I think ill hit one problem at a time at the moment. I have to find all the little s%$t the last owner did like using barsleak and replacing the coolant using water. If you look under the throttle body in the picture you can see all the rust being leaked all over the motor.

AAAHHH the joys of working on cars that arent on the easy part list.

HOLY CRAP, why didn't any of you salty first gen SHO gurus tell me about the pain I was about to inflict upon myself trying to replace this one crappy 2" piece of hose. This hose blew between the two clamps holding it. Now im completely down the rabbit hole. Pulled the plug wires on the back side to get them out of my way and found them all half submerged in oil. At this point im going to have to just go ahead and do the 120K service. Its due.

Also, are there any sources to replace the heater hoses that are half metal? The rubber hose end of both of mine are about to blow. SHO Source is gonna make some money off me this week.

Carefully cut the clamps holding the the rubber hoses to the pipes and replace the hoses with new ones. Reuse the metal pipes. Regular worm drive clamps replace the original ones. There is a hose part number thread in the How To section. You can get them all via Rockauto, shosource, or the local parts store.

Yes. 120k should be done now that you have it exposed. There are short cuts if we can understand what is being described. Text is harder than --spoken word-- is harder than --seeing in person.
At this age assume everything is old, dried out, rotted, rusted and an enormous PITA to deal with. Then be pleasently surprised if it is not. I used alot of sharp blades on hoses, dremels on small parts and cutting wheel and grinder on old rusted suspension on my 1st rusted out SHO way back. And that car was only 7ish years old in the salt life at the time.

OK, im about ready to become an ax murderer at this point. I just cant seem to get this side of the water neck out. I pulled everything off but the stud to the right causes the open neck to bind on the thermostat housing. I tried to remove the stud but it was pretty secure, dont want to chance breaking it and really screwing myself. Im at the point where im thinking im going to have to remove the fuel rail and work from the top on the thermostat side.

And then I get to hunt down all new hoses for down there as ALL of the hoses are near the fail point.

Well it will be fun when its done.

All this for a darn $5 2 inch long hose. :bonk:

There are a total of 5 nuts that need to come off. After that the only thing holding it in place is the oring on the crossover tube which can be really difficult to break loose if it's been on for a long time. If you have all 5 nuts removed then you just need to keep working to get it to come off.

Dude, you brought a tear of happiness to my eye posting that picture for me! LOL

I owe you a beer one of these days!

Can you let me know where those replacement hoses you have in the picture came from. Also, does anyone have a nice replacement for these parts for sale? Mine are in pretty bad condition.

The hose sections are silicone replacements that I was offering for sale a while back. You can go to the parts store and get some fuel filler hose to replace the old section.

I'm sure I have a couple of the housings sitting on a shelf right now.

Here's a picture and diagram of the hose and throttle body water outlets from when I had to do mine. It's hose from NAPA: https://shoforum.com/threads/heater-core-hose-grenaded.127038/#post-1406087

You'll need the whole front water gasket kit, which includes the two o rings for the crossover pipe that will likely be stuck to this end.

Just wash the housings or use some CLR.

Since im at it, I wanted to verify something. On the heater hoses is the standard replacement method to cut off the pressure hose from the metal tube and replace the hose with a reducing hose like the 18080 or the 18822?
