So, I got this error this morning causing the CES to flash: P1505.

Any ideas? I Looks like no one has had this on this forum before or v8sho.com.

If the IAC itself fails you are going to get hard starting and uneven idle. Most often, from what I understand, this happens due to a dirty sensor in the MAF. I have not, however, heard of getting this code as a result, so your problem might be different than the somewhat common one of the sensor.

I found this:

http://helpforcars.net/obd_codes/p1505_ford.html

But you are right, I have not heard that one before.

Yeah it's an odd one.. it sounds like the IAC is bad.. but it's working fine as far as I can tell (if not, then I would assume the car wouldn't idle since the valve needs to work in order for it to do so unless maybe it's stuck open?)

What happens typically when a IAC fails on a V8?
Devin, usually the engine shuts off due to insufficient air flow.. but that's not happening.

I cleared the codes, so I guess we'll see if it comes back. I got a whole slew of codes with it though, 2 being misfires on cylinders 1 and 3.

that code simply means the ecu cannot control idle rpm via the IAC valve, it doesn't necessarily mean the ISC valve is bad

you most likely do not have your throttle body set screw set correctly

invoke a base idle reset as outlined in the link below

http://info.efidynotuning.com/idleair101.htm

in the drop down menu scroll down to base idle reset and read the section for a base idle reset on a stock tune

should resolve all your issues, could possibly be a vac leak causing havoc too
