Hey all!
Obviously new to the forum and am looking for some advice. Should a complete car noob own this vehicle? I mean complete, aside from the ability to change a tire.
I have always had an eye for the SHO, so when I spotted one at my local dealer I took it for a spin and loved it. I paid a $200 deposit to have one that I felt fit me best put on a trailer and shipped to me. I am under no obligation but I am also under no delusions, I'm gonna want to take it home.
I have spent quite a bit of time on this forum the last few days and my head is spinning. I've read posts from guys with garages nicer than any room in my house talk about gas, oil, filters, spark plugs, brake pads, intake valves, sludge, tires etc. in great depth and I feel WAY out of my league.
I would love to own this car, have it last me 15 years and look and drive like someone in the know took care of it. Only problem is, I'm not in the know and my mechanical aptitude is laughable at best.
Once the warranty expires I am at the mercy of the mechanic which I have a solid distrust in. I have been taken advantage of in the past so it's not blind hate. So, from now till then can a guy like me spending a few hours a week on this forum and getting my hands dirty enough not to feel so puzzled/helpless?
