Good lord,
Just called the local ford dealer for front to rear brake lines. Quoted 500 bucks ! Wow, they said the old f8dz-2c287-a was replaced same number with one more a on the end. Was 150, new number 500. Looks like I'm bending these by hand.

make your own. go to surplus city if you have one. 25 feet is $15. I think they also have it at some chain stores and some of them have fancy corrosion resistant line, albeit for more money.
here is how I do it. I reused the ends. cut off the line with a hacksaw at the end so you can get a six point socket on it. spray it and tap it. clean up the inside where the line goes through with a round file one off. use a standard double flaring tool. the key to a good flare is a straight cut in the line with no burrs. I clean it up with a small flat file before I flare it to make sure it's square and burr free.

Yes. That is what I did last time too. That is, making my own. Its time consuming, but you can get very good results if you exercise care and it will save a bundle of $$$s.

Check with SHOnut Performance they have stainless steel brake lines, either a complete kit or just the front to back. The later comes as a two piece with a joint already made up in the middle. Cost much less than the dealer

Thanks for the advice everyone. After checking around for available resources I think I have a solution.

The local parts store (a&a auto) sells standard lengths of brake line. Gonna pull the two bad ones off, get some twine and measure the overall length of the lines accurately. They have brass adapters(designed for brake lines) to allow their line type to be threaded into both front and rear distribution boxes. Will post prices and keep you guys/girls posted.

I like the idea of making my own and I let the idea of adding that tool to my garage. Gonna let the price of said items determine how this project proceeds.

I never know what to do with brake lines and the best thing is to get yours off and go to some place that knows their business.

I know there are JIC flares, bubble flares and double bubble flairs and I never know which one is required, but the last time I did one, the guys in the shop knew by looking at the old ones.

In a bind, you can always pick Josh's brains over at shonutperformance. They sell individual lines/complete sets, and they know the SHO business.

Ok! Problem solved. Got a flaring tool and Reused all the fittings except 2. The front distribution block, rear hole was the standard thread available on the length of line I bought, so because it was rusty I used a new one there. Also had to purchase the metric thread for the passenger rear as the line was rusted hard inside the fitting. That metric piece proved the hardest to find and when I finally made it to advance auto, there was only one. FYI auto zone sells the complete line from rear distribution to passenger rear rubber line for $25. Thanks for the input everyone!
