i seem to be going through about a quart of oil a month(1k-1500 miles) not leaking and is pretty dry underneath. no blue smoke from exhaust. am i missing something?

Yup I can second that. I use about a quart of redline 10W/30 every 1000 miles. $$$$ but at least I'm getting 3 extra quarts worth of additives every 3000 miles!! I recently added a quart of lucas oil stabilizer in there. It slowed oil consumption to 1 qt every 2000 miles. I think I might try the Auto-RX suggested my Paul Nimz to see if that slows down oil consumption. I don't think I'm going to use the Lucas in the SHO again.pjtoledo:
On older engines its typical for conventional oil to last twice as long as the synthetic stuff. Had that happen on my 92 at about 175,000 miles.

I'm with you dude. I was using about a quart every 500 miles before I did 60k maintenance. I haven't had to put oil in my car after a change yetAutoSHO:
