I went into my local Ford dealership to get the cost of OEM bushings so I could compare to the price of aluminum ones.

But, the parts person had no idea what I was talking about and couldn't find them.:oogle:

I left in disgust and told her I would find the part numbers on the Net and call her back. I haven't had any luck, but figured somebody here would know.

I commute 135 miles a day in my `95 MTX SHO so I figured the stock rubber bushings would probably be better. But, if the factory ones are close to the same price as the aluminum ($110), then I may just upgrade.

They are listed on Josh Teixeira's site (http://www.shonutperformance.com/):

Stock bushings for a 96: p/n: YF1Z-5400155-AA- F6DZ-5400396-A , price is 124.08

Aluminium ones are actually cheaper: p/n: SNP-ASB, price is 95.00
There are also delrin (plastic) bushings available, p/n SNP-DSB for 125.00

It is also a good idea to replace the subframe bolts:you need 2 subframe recall kits (2 bolts and plate nuts each) , may be able to get them from dealer, reference recall 98s36 for Taurus Subframe: p/n:XF1Z-5A364-AA, price 18.57

The Gen III bushings are a good replacement and are actually easier to install than are the Gen II bushings. Figure around $30 per corner if you can get a good discount. Gezim posted the correct numbers.

Aluminums are often cheaper, but some drivers report a noticable increase in NVH.

Delrin bushings have fallen out of favor and are not suggested.

Heres my paypal receipt for the parts I got from Josh at SHONUT to rebuild my subframe mounts.

I had to grind (2) <1/4" Notches on all 4 corners of the subframe(peice of cake - just use a primer on the spot you cut before the new bushings go in). The design IS far superior to the Original bushings. The recall kits are HIGHLY recommended.

Yeah, if you like throwing money away. :nut:

When upgrading to V8 SFB's, if your stock subframe bolts are in bad enough condition to warrant replacement, JUST REPLACE THE BOLTS! The bolts are about $4/each list price at the dealer. You're not going to use anything else in the recall kit to install V8 bushings, so there's no reason to buy the recall kits unless you actually need to do the recall and even then you just need one recall kit plus 2 bolts.

I beg to differ, If you are replacing your subframe bushings, they must be in pretty bad shape. When I took my bolts out...they were disgusting.

If yu wanna put this back into your car....go ahead.
