Today I cleaned the EGR valve with carb cleaner then put every thing back together and drove it and it had all the power back and realy kicked ass. I drove it for 20 minutes and no problems. But then like an hour later I went to drive it and I had a hard time starting it then it would not stay running and would sputter when I did get it running, now it feels like shit and sucks. Now I get codes 121, 172, 213, and 332.
121-TPS out of range
172-lean bank 1
213-SPOUT circuit-open connection failure
332-Insufficient EGR flow
I really need help on this one, I'm losing my mind on this car. dammit if it isn't one thing it's another.

You need to make sure that the vacuum lines on the rear plenum are still attached. Did you install the gasket in the EGR ****** on the manifold? Are the EGR ****** bolts properly torqued down? You should also check the ground path for the DIS module: ground strap to the back left intake bracket and the two 12mm bolts that hold the intake crossover tube to the plenum.

You also need to check the throttle position sensor connector. If the connector is installed correctly, you might have a bad TPS.

Now, that SPOUT code. The SPOUT shorting plug is a gray plug in a two-conductor connector near the cylinder identification sensor (CID, a.k.a. camshaft position sensor). With this error, your EEC is not able to advance the ignition timing and it is stuck at the 10 degree before top dead center default. What electrical connections did you deal with when you went after the EGR valve?

I don't know how many times I've posted this....

I had the same problem. Codes saying, it was running lean, insuficient air flow....

Check the metal tube that goes from your EGR valve to the rear exhaust manifold. You won't be able to see the hole, you have to listen for it...it sounds like a hiss.

If so then that has to get repaired. Then reset the codes. I had a friend weld in a piece of copper pipe so it wouldn't leak.

I think that when you bend it a little to remove the intake etc.. it eventualy cracks and lets air in. Which puts air in your exhaust and gives the comp. lean codes, which it trys to correct by adding more fuel.

Lost yet?

Let me know how it goes.
