Well apparently I posted in the wrong place, anyway I am new to the SHOworld and I own a 97 V8 red/gray. My problem is that when I put the car in reverse the radio shuts off and the windows don't work. Also, as I'm driving down the road and no particular speed the seat belt light comes on alng with the low coolant light. My seat belt is on and the collant level is good. What is this? It just started in the last couple of days. :bonk:

How many miles on it? Has it ever been involved in a serious accident? My guess is your coolant sensor in the tank is going bad and it either needs to be removed completely or cleaned. The seatbelt light is a wierd one. Maybe the tensoiner or the sensor was damaged due to an accident? You also seem to having some crazy electrical problems. I don't know what to say about the whole reverse thing. Maybe you have some wire chaffing somewhere or a wire is grounding itself prematurely?

I'm not sure if it was in an accident or not, I didn't see any indications of an accident anyway. Sit down for this, it has approx 173,500 miles to date but it runs great other than this little item. The body is solid, rust, dings or anything. It had to be garage kept and well tken care of. This is just boggling my mind. Where is the sensor located? I'm new to this type of engine config, use to the 87 to 93 mustang config so there is alot of difference

Also if you are new to the SHO world, then it would be a VERY good idea for you to pay a visit to www.v8sho.com. My guess is also that your cams are not welded. That is first and foremost. Look around V8SHO, there are many answers to all your questions. Good luck. :thumb:

I've already took the liberty of checking out the cam and the previous owner had them pinned which I was relieved. My mechanic pulled them for me about two weeks after I bought it. I found out about the cams the first week I owned it by just looking for mod items. I was hoping the prev owner had it done after I read about it.

I had a regular Taurus SLO in my shop with the radio off in reverse issue. It had other problems though. We never looked into the radio off in reverse issue. Good luck and post your findings.

I had the same problems, and more with my 95, then the car started stalling when I turned my head lights on. Turns out all I needed was a new alternator. Sounds wierd but it took care of all my problems. Check your charging system.

Check your GEM module. It is above the inside fuse box. Make sure all the connectors are firmly attached. Those on the fuse box too.
