Its a 92 premium sound, the person I bought it from had an aftermarket cd player in it, and kept it. I have installed a 95's premium sound tape/am/fm into the car, and unhooked the "premium sound" amplifier adaptor in the back(it bypassed the small black amp for the aftermarket head unit). Now with everything plugged back in the way it should be, I get no sound. :(

any idea? perhaps a fuse is blown for the amps?:thankyou:

So do you have the premium sound amp hooked up or not? Also do you have the 6 pin shorting plug in place on the back of the tape deck?

the amps are plugged in, as are the 2 pronged, the one right above that one(idk how many pins), the main one, and the antenna on the head unit

the head unit worked flawlessly in the 95, and I wonder if a fuse perhaps?

Take out the head unit and peek in the hole to the left. There should be a pair of connectors that look like the big power connector for the head unit. Both of them should be plugged into connectors that feed back into the dash harness.

on the upper left cornerthere is a connector there, but I could not find any wiring under the dash that went there....if it matters, I think my 95 had a factory cd player at some point

Edit: I'll take a pic this afternoon of it

The only space open is the plug on the top left(cd player hookup???)

Your head unit looks correct. Did you look inside the dash for the other connectors? You can also check the connector that is under the carpet on the passenger side. It is the other end of the silver wire that is connected to your head unit.

well, I checked bypassed the black amp and was getting sound out of the front speakers somehow, so I'm just swapping amps, not like I don't have a few of them
