If it's an MTX with the old cruise setup, check the vacuum line that goes under the dash to the pedal switch (IIRC for the clutch but CRS strikes!). I've had two of those go out over the years.

Only other possibility is the clockspring. I also remember something about if the cruise & horn both don't work, it's the clockspring.

My 90 has a habit of popping off the throttle body. There's a black line that connects to it that can sometimes come off.

Check the vacuum line more closely. Both of mine had a crack right at the connector.

Are you saying the line to the brake pedal...was just thinking that the clutch pedal could be contacting that line and over time wear...are we on the same page..???

Mine just aged, and developed a crack starting at the end where it fit on the ******.

Vacuum is a key component for that old cruise system used on the MTXs, unlike the electronic system used on the ATXs. All three of my older Gen 1 & 2 SHOs had cruise issues, with the '94 having a bad clockspring, found with the inop horn (which also kills power to the buttons). Never had one of the actual cruise units go bad.

for my 94 if you look at the connector that connects to the module from the top, the last two pins on the left are melted. Any way to fix that? i was thinking about getting a new connector from a j/k and change it out somehow. Mine is an atx but what is a SCDS? So to the orginal poster check your connector.

Didn't mean to hi-jack this thread, but just thought i'd chime in as the cruise experts seem to be here..anyhoo...found my problem..all lines are good..no cracks..none disconnected..however..the vacuum canister that drives the cable to throttle is split in half..looks like there was a V clamp holding it together..3/4 of it rusted right off..anyone have one of those..??
