Well, he should claim it while he can because there is ALWAYS someone with more money coming up behind him. Good job.

Tom

if he wants to be specific to the gen 4 SHO then yes he does have the fastest... I however will still claim the fastest 1/4 mile taurus in the world... go ahead and take that one from me

Just a matter of time Alex. Besides, your car gets lighter with every trip down a bumpy road! :laugh_ti:

Kidding of course, and nice times beefcake, but I gotta agree that decal is way too big for the car. To each their own, and I understand you're giving recognition to Torrie. I guess I'm just a "less flash is better" type.

I'm sure there's some DIY'er that's already broken 12s but just doesn't waste time making claims on teh intrawebz...

hmmm, cars been out 3 weeks and how many can actually break the code on this stuff?????

and any tuner worth a smack is gonna be on modfords, moddepot or svtperf

anyway, it's all in fun

like i said in my vid "this week" lol

My thoughts exactly...

1.88 second 60'. Niiiiiiiiiiiiice.

Now lets make a list of 4 door sedans under 60K that are sub 1.9 seconds for the 60' WITHOUT picking up a wrench... If this tuning trend continues 1.8's are hopefully the norm with 1.7 60' times occasionally.

How about some 4-door sedans under $40K with sub 1.9 60' times??

WRX
LGT
STI
and probably EVO

I would guess retty much any performance AWD car.

AWD is just THE way to go with higher HP engines.

Now say those same names iwth "Taurus" in the middle someplace. Those are fine examples for a big bumbling Full size Taurus to be "neighbors" with.

From what I have seen thus far, a well-broken-in (10K mile) EcoSHO nwith mild tuning changes will be in the 12s.

After having been a Yamaha-SHO enthusiast since I bought my new '89 on 4/3/1989, I can TRULY now say that:

I DON'T GIVE A SHYTE WHAT A GEN1/2/3 SHO TURNS IN THE QUARTER. THE ECOSHO WILL KICK YOUR ASS.

And, being someone who feels that "BOTTLES ARE FOR BABIES", I could care less what you can run on the bottle.

I will eventually get to a new SHO down the road, and I suspect by then folks like Kirk and Torrie will have developed an 11-second streetable SHO.

********. If it runs longer than 10.5s I'll be disappointed. From how it's been explained to me, the limiting factors are the transmission and the secondary fuel pump. I suspect mods/upgrades to those two will be fairly quick to see the light (well, at least the latter, anyway).

But, on the other side, can you imagine what this thing would do on the bottle? It wouldn't be giggle gas, it'd be LMAO gas. We'd have the ROFLSHO.
