Nice, I saw that at DMCC I think. I know I've seen it before around here.

My buddy with the 240 looks to be backing out on his project due to personal issues, so I might have some parts for you if you're interested (tranny, clutch, etc).

How soon are you starting? Got it home already?

He will put that weight bias back into play with all the bi***es in the back seat that he picks up in it.

This man speaks the truth... partially.

I will be moving the firewall back about 6 inches at least so that ******* rear sump can **** of my way.... and then ill sandbag the shit out of the rear end or make sure i have 20 gal's of fuel in the back so i can hook up :p and blaine, i think im going with the ranger bell housing and the mustang t5 if that works. so yes im interested in the tranny... i know im going to blow it draggin it though. i plan to be running 500 wheel horse for drag and about 300 for drift. the P.O was running a FD Rx7 rotary and would spin the tires from a roll in third and would do a burnout without hooking up down the whole 1/4 mile... he only had a street port on less than stock boost (7lbs) 300 is even overkill for this car for drifting. and it is SO solid... between that cage and the seam welding it has NO flex... i cant wait to drive this puppie! and i also cant wait to make a new harness from scratch! i love being able to start fresh.

Ranger bellhousing is part of the ranger tranny, can't run a T5 on there. Not really a big deal though because a T5 won't take much more than a M5 anyway, and that's actually debatable. There's some boosted Ranger guys running big (for a Ranger) numbers on the M5. The M5 should be fine for 300, same as T5, but 500 HP is going to be pushing both of them.

If you don't run a hood and drop PS/AC, relocate the battery, and possibly have a fuel cell instead of a tank (further back), weight distro should be pretty bang on. The V6 isnt THAT much heavier than the 4AGE, about 150 pounds.

Besides, nobody cares if it's actually 50/50 or not. It's some pointless number that people brag about. If the car handles the way you want it to, it doesn't matter what the weight distribution is.

I'd be apprehensive about the Ranger tranny holding up to Yamaha RPM, although I don't know much about the M5.

Clutch kicking is for engines that can't break the tires loose on their own...

Just punch it or use the nice hydro ebrake you've got on there.
