I haven't been active much with work, vacation, kids, summer, and most all RAIN - 1st world problems! It has the track has been rained out 12/14 weeks. I did go to the track 3 weeks ago got one run with the car heat soaked and ran an 11.68 against a tuned Audi that ran an 11.086. He basically beat my by a car length which gives me some motivation to keep pushing the car a bit faster but at the same time I know something is going to break, bend or other.
The track was a complete shit show and they shouldn't have had it open that night. The following day they were hosting a big even and staging lanes were getting really heated between the street car and race car folks. Every 2 runs one of the drag cars would brake and throw fluid all over the track causing a night full of watching the prep crew doing their thing. I got personally was stuck in the staging lanes for 4 hours before I made my run. I also almost ate shit at the end when the car went nearly sideways at the finish line. It worked out that the Audio won by a car length other wise we would have had a collision at 120mph. I must have slipped in something but I'm really not sure. I didn't have my foot on the brake when when the car slip and the shut down the the track to to prep it again after the car after me almost hit the barrier as well.
In unrelated SHO news I picked up my 21' Explorer ST from GHT last Friday and it is a beast. With intercooler alone she was pushing a a little bit over 500WHP on e30. Were not exactly sure how much power she has since the down pipes have been added because the dyno broke but we'll get it back on the dyno soon. We picked up the Explorer then took it on a 3500 mile road trip the next day and the tune performed really well. I smoked a Mercedes AMG C 63 on from 80-130MPH. I was shocked at how smooth that SUV is at high speeds, I have lowering springs for it but I probably wont even both with them.
This coming weekend the local track is hosting a pretty big Domestic VS Imports event and the wife will be racing the ST and I'll be in the SHO, it should be a good time.
