Not bad for the first Draggy run. It was clear that the 245 conti’s were not up to the task. The fronts spun 1st-2nd gear and finally grabbed in 3rd. Time for some 9” wheels and 275 NITTO 555R2’s.

Nice run! I would place a bet, on a prepped track you could probably get an 11. It would be close. If you are in the market, I might be selling my 20x9.5’s with Nitto NT555R2’s. Only bc I want 20x10.5 wheels. Just throwing it out there. 20x9.5 +35 offset, 28.5 pounds a wheel, 275/35/20 Nitto NT555R2’s...wheels and Nitto under 2k miles.....and rear tires Continental extreme contact DW ultra high performance summer tires 275/35/20, 9k miles on them, rated for 30k miles, 4 new stem TPMS. Pm if interested.

I’m interested sending you a PM.

It warmed up some so I made another couple passes launching at various rpms. I got a 12.01 with a slight decline. I had a pretty strong headwind and a 50lb bag of dog food I forgot in the trunk lol. If I could get her hook at 25oo+ rpms I’d think I could get 11’s.

Oh **** yeah, you’re already there man. Dragy is notoriously on the slower side....it’s a good .02-.04 hundredths of a second slower than at a track. So if that was at a track you’d be in the 11’s. Then add in the track prepped surface...should be another .10 faster with the better launch.

Gearhead Turbos
XDI fuel pump
Stainless works down pipes
DW’s booster pump
GH intercooler
EPP CAI & hotpipes
Anthony D torq mounts
T-stat, plugs, 3bar map sensor.
I also converted the BOV’s to vent to atmosphere. I basically did this because a lot of undercover’s around here are in gray Taurus’s and nobody wanted to take the chance Lol.

Future mods: 802SHO’s wheels with nitto 275 R2’s.
ADL Radar detector and jammer .

Assuming I can get her times into the 11’s with wider wheels/tires I will probably keep it the way it is. I love how much of a sleeper it is, nobody sees it coming!

I was able to get out for one draggy run. I unfortunately started a little further down the road than I thought. I let off at my normal marker which was a weee bit early as you can see.

Only difference between the 12.01 and the 11.92 was the addition of new to me wheels/ tires from @802SHO. Full weight, half tank of gas, kids car seats, a pound chicken nuggets, another pound of errant french fries.

The Nitto 555 R II’s grab so well! I launched at 2k RPM’s, traction control off. I can’t get over this difference the Nitto’s make! I also took the car out in the rain early in the morning and tires did just fine their also.

She runs and shifts great! @mattr66 did a helluva job tuning the ole girl!

Very impressive and congratulations on your first 11 second pull! Looks like she’s got a bit more in her, since we can see you let out of it early. Lmao on the details about the 2 pounds of nuggets and fries!! Just imagine the difference on a prepped surface, I recommend 30 miles to empty, even if full weight remove all loose items from the car, empty the glove box, center console...(a small tip in some advanced and free weight reduction: floor mats, head rests and empty the windshield washer fluid) if you’re feeling the need for speed. Then let her rip and stay in it. I’m interested to see what that equals for an elapsed time.

The current plan is to take her to the track this weekend! Either San Antonio or Houston, I’m not sure which one yet. I have never ran on a track before but @802SHO has been coaching me up big time through text messages, I really appreciate all the advice knowledge!!!

I will post a write up of the experience ASAP!

great deal!

Get those Explorer parts installed yet? haha

Not yet, but hopefully soon! I should be ordering the fuel pump and Air-filter soon. The Down-pipe installation on these Explorer’s is supposedly a 10hr job itself and many people recommend pulling the motor to do it! It’s above what I personally can handle with my back. The plan is the get everything together and have it all done at once. It kinda blows my mind knowing the Explorer will be faster than the SHO!

Your the best! I’ll be ordering those soon too!!

People are hungry for another tuning source on this forum https://www.explorerst.org/. People are waiting 3+ months for a tune from ZFG. Unleashed seems to have be having issues with their tune so people are resorting to..... Liverois.
