Hmmm maybe my advice is no bueno for you then. Some wheel spin isn’t necessarily a bad thing though. I get torque steer sometimes but I can’t say I’ve ever felt like my car was sliding sideways. For me TC on or off didn’t make any difference. On, yes it would cut some power but not in a way that I really notice or feel until I look at the logs. Off, it would spin more and also hit a drivetrain torque limit at the top of 1st and kinda have a long limpy shift into 2nd. 60’ was the same so I opt to leave the TC on.

Keep in mind too that I only run 12.3’s and my car is bone stock in everything besides the tune, so what I like may not work well when you add 100 HP and all that jazz. But I also 60’ in an identical 1.80s on cheap 500 treadwear tires and full weight and so I know you’ve got more potential with your setup!

bone stock 12.3 is impressive!

I went to the track again tonight and made 5 passes, best run was an 11.91 and the worst was a 12.02. The track was packed and I didn’t bring any ice, intake temps were pretty high every launch. It didn’t really matter because I still can’t get traction on the launch. I tried 30psi, 28pi, 26psi in the tires but it didn’t make a difference.

In the video I run a 12.02 and you can hear the tires spinning on the launch. I can’t avoid the water and it’s killing me! It’s disappointing that I can run better times on the street, especially when considering the dragy is consistently slower than the track time.

Bc of the water I wouldn’t even bother going there. I’d cross that track right off my list of options. I’d stick with dragy results if you’re making slight changes to the setup and want to track progress that way. Then save it for a better track location. When traction is worse than the street on a track it’s pointless.

Not a huge improvement but I have made an interesting observation. My times go down if launch over 2100 rpm’s.

I did a bunch of draggy 0-60’ runs over the last two weeks. My best launch was at around 2700 rpm with traction control on, this resulted in 1.80 0-60’. This had me thinking high rpm launch would be better BUT I was never able recreate, not even close.

I do have a meth kit, Wilwood brakes for the front, and lowering springs otw. The Meth is really just to keep my intake temps down at the track. I’m hoping the springs will allow me to dip into 11.6’s on the street.

Also, I have a connection at the Nitrous Outlet in Waco so I hope get a decent deal on a nitrous system to run a mild shot between 20-70hp.

I’ll probably remove the grill, rear seatbelts. Front seats are staying, for now.

Damn race ******.

Nitrous is overrated if you've got turbos that aren't maxed. Feed in more boost and skip the expense of nitrous and make the same power. I removed my nitrous kit after I went upgraded turbos. You're turbos will rod your motor from power without nitrous lol

Good to know, how much boost were you running when you bent a rod?

20psi lol but I've seen people run more with no issues just uh it'***** or miss. Saw one survive at 25psi and 25 degrees for a few pulls but that one became external really crazily ha.

20psi 19 degrees of timing is what I had so honestly thought it was pretty conservative but oops

Went back to the track on Friday armed with my new knowledge from the track operator on how to get a good launch with an AWD car on this particular track. Overall it was a success, I ran an 11.63 & 11.66. As the night went on the prep degraded and the times got slower.

A couple cars had breakdowns on the track, a Mustang caught on fire in the staging lanes, and BMW smacked the barriers twice and just kept going when he overcorrected and lost control in between the 1/8 and 1/4 mile markers. No video of it :(

Other changes to the car were H&R lowering springs and muffler delete with 3” straight pipes. The car has been getting a ton of compliments on the sound and ET’s. To include the GTR owner from before who now has full bolts and is running high 10’s.

This week I will install an AEM Methanol kit to keep her cool before the Texas heat kicks in.

Which btw was to go forward, reverse, forward, reverse a few time? To get the water off? Congrats on your new personal best ET of 11.63! Make sure to get yourself added to Dragtimes.com.

Will do & thanks! Yes I would pulled forward and backwards from starting line to the tree twice before each run. The DA’s were at 2300ish last night, next Friday they are projected to be in the negatives! Not sure how much of a difference it will make but I’ll find out!

Since you don’t have meth or nitrous -DA should help for sure...but if it’s too cold traction is worse unless it’s sunny.

I should have the meth injection set up by next Friday, I’m not 100 pct sure which nozzle to use. AEM’s chart only gives nozzle size based off horsepower and assumption your running a lower octane non-blended pump gas? I’m off work all week though so I will have some to experiment with it!

I took a 45 minute drive this morning and decided to go for a pull at the end since I haven’t made one on the “street” since adding the springs deleting the mufflers. I was able to beat my previous best draggy with over a half of tank of gas!
Traction control was off and I had minimal wheel spin off the launch and none on the shift from 1st to second. Typically it’s a chore making a “street” pass without spinning the tires and I would get tires spin on every shift from 1st to second.

She definitely felt more firmly planted to the street, could the springs make this big of difference?? Was it luck, placebo?

I feel like I could easily rip an 11.6x on the street after that pull!

Idk if Dragy has gotten better at calculating 60ft times but it’s usually the only thing it sucks at figuring out. My best 60ft is a 1.664 and I also used Dragy for that run and it had me at 1.9. I would take Dragy 60ft with a grain of salt.

Excellent road btw. That’s pretty much as flat as a track. Some ways to manipulate Dragy is by going on a slight decent slope and it allows up to as much as a -.90% decline I believe. Some folks get super pumped with a fairly quick “Valid” Dragy pull but if they’re flirting with the “invalid” threshold of -1.0% slope then on a flat track they might be disappointed.

Yah I love my draggy spot, at the end there is a 500’ hill so I don’t even have use my brakes - geo brakes! I have made some pulls with at spots that have about -.80 decline and does make a pretty big difference. The spot that I use is one of the few flat spots around here.

I don’t trust the 0-60’ draggy times at all. The few times I ran the draggy at the track it was significantly off. It’s often off by 2 tenths or more which is a bit ridiculous.

Headed back to the track in an hour! I’m pretty excited to see what she runs. I have added an AEM Methanol kit and I have revised tune from Matt that feels like it has a lot more torque and power. I punched it rolling at 15mph and the front radials started smokin, that’s new! I’m hoping to hit 11.5 or lower :)

Before loading the tune I tested the new Wilwood squealer 5000’s and I was able to hold at 3000rpm. Do I attempt a 3k launch?

DA’s are looking to be about 0 and it’s been in the 70’s and sunny all day.
