i thought installing a front brace required the removal of the hood struts, but they were still there in the pics that SHO Continental posted... were there any modicifations made in order to keep them functional?

Good question, but in the last picture, the hood struts are removed along with the hood.

Looks like this is something that could be made from scratch... Get some thick tubr or square frame, hook it to some metal disks and drill the correct holes for mounting. With a little bit of measurement work and some basic fab skills, one could make the same STB for a hellova lot less, No?

That picture showing the struts still in there was right after the bar was installed. Also, the car now runs a carbon fiber hood, no struts either way.

Stupid question.... did you try turning the bar upsidedown? Looks like there would be more room for the struts with the bend facing down.

I did and no it doesnt clear that much more.
