Hi, I'm Ryan the one with the black/black 1993 at the breakfast for you who went. Well on my way home it was getting worse and worse and I could barely turn the wheel.. Someone looked under my passanger side and noticed my subframe was hanging in the back a little and turns out it wasn't just the bushing I drove home took backroads whole way didn't take too long but I was doing speed limit and being very careful with 2 hands on wheel. Left turns were the worst and the last 2 before my house I had to back up a few times and made a 90 degree turn practically a 4 point turn and then I just pulled over about a half mile from my house. My brother was at my house had him come down and I drove his car up behind him driving mine with hazards on he said he power braked it in reverse and turned to where he needed then went fowards and had to do that several times for the 3 turns and then my driveway.

By the way... by the time I got it parked in my driveway subframe was hanging like 4 inches down in the back on the drivers side and also hangin on passanger back.. I was babying it as much as I could whole way home but as you can see from pics it was really rotted.

Well when I got home my brother was there but didn't have junk clothes so I jacked it up put it on stands just for now until I get new subframe and bushings and I took out back bolts (and bushings) cause they actually came through cause frame holes were so rotted. And I loosened the front bolts too with a jack handle for a leverage pipe but they are loose and back are out so I just gotta get all other stuff off of it and when my brother comes back over with engine hoist another jack and set of stands we will take it down and put new one back in.

I'll probably have subframe ready to come down on tuesday I'll repost in this thread letting you know how it was or if I have any trouble. Thanks

Sorry about blurriness and bad angles/quality.. was in rush dark out

The front ones still have the bolts in them but are loose and they are less rusted the back ones have no bushings or bolts just a piece of one bushing still stuck in passenger side I'll get out later..

Yes, very very good he checked it out... it really wasn't bad lastnight it just started the littlest bit and I thought it was power steering rack just getting worse. But then today on the drive there and then home it got very bad quickly like I said, by the time I got home it was waaaay worse and I was being very very easy not even pressing gas pedal around corners. Now I just need to get new subframe... and possibly gen III bushings, suprizingly so far I've had no trouble wish I didn't have to work tomorrow because it will probably be raining on me outside on tuesday :( It was nice to meet you Randy and also everyone else

if your looking for junk yards in the area that would have subframes the only 2 that i use are bills in cumberland and advanced auto recycling on the cumberland north attleboro line. i dont know whats out towards north smithfield but those two usually have a sho or two in them
good luck with that

I'll call them see if they know they have any and if they do I'll go and take a look maybe good shape bushings too doubt it but "maybe" hopefully they not all rotted like mine haha. Thanks chris that was a pretty rough ride home I was taking it very easy and holding on tight and being very careful. When I left country buffet I knew once I got home it was going to be getting worked on asap...

North Smithfield auto salvage had a white ATX when I was there a couple months ago, maybe they still have it. Not sure if you knew, but ATX and MTX subframes are different and not interchangeable.

Glad you made it home OK, make sure you call us at NESHO if you need any help or advice. I'm going to PM you my number, and I know you have Kirk's already.

Kirk I'm not sure your username but I called today and got answering machine and couldn't leave message because it was full I'll try again tomorrow.

There is also a same body style regular ATX taurus at my school... They never work on it I dont know why they keep it maybe he will let me take subframe :) I'll ask for **** of it.. haha

i dont think a regular Taurus/Sable has the same subframe as an ATX SHO....if im not mistaken the difference is in the placement of the holes for the tranny mount...

I'll go look at it I been workin on mine for a few hours now so I got a good mental idea of how it's all setup and if it's noticably different I'll go to other junkyards and look for an SHO where eric said is not far from me maybe my friend will go with me tomorrow he said he would. I don't wanna get wrong subframe, it's not fun taking out and i wanna have the right one to go back in so I wanna find an ATX SHO so I wont have any problems.. Thanks for the advice tho your probably right because I doubt the tranny is in the exact same spot with different engine and setup..

Kirk's username here is shodwn, but with the SHO business, towing cars, and other stuff his days are usually 27 hours long. :)

I know for a fact that as of Sunday we don't have any ATX subframes, unless Kirk picked up a parts car or something since then. I should be talking to him today and I'll get some info for you.

I am pretty sure we have Gen 3 rear subframe bushings (this is a common upgrade used on all four corners of the SF). I will check on that also.

Just for *****, did you run your VIN on Ford.com to see if it's covered under a recall? Perhaps yours was never done.

Ok, I went to priviladge auto parts in woonsocket today and looked at a 93-95 sable (think 95) think it was a gl not sure.. but I looked at subframe tires were off of it and tranny mount bolts looked same place along with motor mount bolts and everything else looked the same. Not sure about power steering rack for sure cause I couldn't see those it would be kinda hard to compare them bolt spots unless it was off the car. Guy at yard thinks it will fit maybe if he signs me a paper saying I can return it when I'm measuring and comparing them and it's not right then I'll buy it and just hope for best.. I really wish I knew for sure if it would fit it looks same so really need to try measurements next. But I'm gonna also call some other yards tomorrow and drive around looking for an atx sho.. The bushings I'm gonna order ones for a 96 correct? lol I'm gonna order them from school they get a good discount hopefully under $100? Cause I'm pretty sure u can get them somewhere else for that price. If you have any info to help it's much appreciated.. Thanks very much

I almost got subframe out just got exhaust left pretty much so need new one so i can get cherry picker and my brothers help to finish it up and swap them.
