My Recent Problems

Hey everyone I figured i'd post about some of the recent problems I had with my 94 mtx. Maybe it'll help someone who has the same symptoms. Anyway, Almost immediately after driving through some really heavy rain on 495 in mass my engine started running really rough, like either a misfire or a clogged fuel injector. By the time I pulled into school the car was vibrating more than my family's 85 benz 300sd, diesel, and i figured it was a clogged injector because at the same time i had run my gas tank almost dry and i figured i could've picked up some deposits in the tank. I dropped it off at the mechanic hoping he could do a professional cleaning of the injectors without taking them off the car. What he found was that the plug wells had a little water in them, because i was using taylor wires and the boots didn't seal like stock wires. So he had to not only change the wires, but the spark plug seals, and valve cover seals seeing he had to get down there to completely clean out the water and stuff. He might've said that the plug seals were leaking oil again, not sure. So anyway my point is that if you've got the taylor 8mm wires watch out for water because this might happen to you.

He might've said that the plug seals were leaking oil again, not sure.

I suspect he changed your valve cover gaskets a plug well seals to solve the oil leaking issue. Moisture in the plug wells is easily fixed by blowing compressed air into the plug well.

Ya, the thing was the gaskets were changed no more than 15k miles ago. I think the water and spark caused some kind of degradation of the spark plug seals, if that makes sense, he said the boots were all eaten up

If the gaskets were only 15k old - then you just got taken by your mechanic.
