ya i was just wondering assuming that my car was running perfect, how much hp and tq would my car be putting out roughly with a 9psi supercharger, cold air intake and just the regular stuff i need to run the supercharger?

we can throw out numbers till we're blue in the face but the only way to actually tell is by throwing it on a dyno.

where is sho shop getting there hp ratings from, they are saying that it would do like 355-360 at the wheels which means 410-420 at the fly wheel.

Its too hard to say...my last dyno with 15 psi pulley and bolt ons, I only hit 331 h.p. No way to guess...throw it on the dyno sometime.

Depends on a lot of factors. I would say 360 @ the wheels for only 9psi would be optimum, but again, a lot of factors to consider, not the least of which is your tune. Also, head/cam variables, your CR and of course displacement will play MAJOR roles. A otherwise stock 3.0 is not going to put out nearly as much power as a 3.2 with massaged heads and some cam work. Likely to be as much as 50-60whp difference between those two dynos.

No...too much power=broken transmission. Be careful how much you run, unless you like to replace your tranny. However I did hear of another run of Josh's HD gearset...that is if you have an extra $6k lying around.

If I had it to do over again, I would KEEP it at 6-9 psi., and have FUN with it at minimal risk to breaking something or damaging the engine. That is unless you are VERY mechanically inclined and have lots of money... if that was the case then shoot for 600 whp

I am still quaifeless and hit 15 psi. Never blew the diff pin or stripped the gears out. Now if you have the powerdyne s/c, you need to swap to a vortec if you want to boost more than 9 psi-the powerdyne cannot boost that high with our high rpms

I have just completed a 9 lb SHO Shop blower installation on a stock engine with SHO Shop Y pipe and dynomax cat back system.

It dynoed at 280 hp at the wheels. I still have an issue to resolve because it only made power to 5,800 rpm and then fell off sharply. I'm looking at the wires, plugs & fuel pressure regulator as the most likely causes. I figure there's at least another 20 hp in there, but I don't think I'll see much more than 300 at the wheels .... which is a nice setup for a street driven car. Manageable, but fast.

that seems really low for 9psi. i know i have to be putting out more than that just by looking at cars that ive raced.

with that kinda hp rating, i would get handled by a honda s2000

but i can beat that car by like a half a car length.

Uh, no. The S2k makes 240 hp at the flywheel... a SHO making 280 hp at the wheels would have zero problem smoking an S2000.

As for the dyno numbers posted, 280 hp @ 5800 is just fine - With the blower you should see a HP peak at or above 7k once you get your power loss resolved.
