Find the descriptions at the following locations.

Dali Design
SHOtimes.

111 System checks OK -> No hard faults, self explanitory

124 (M) TP (throttle position sensor) voltage was higher than expected -> Probable bad TP sensor.

172 (R,M) Oxygen sensor not switching - system is or was lean - Single, Right or Rear HO2S -> Probable bad rear O2 sensor, replace O2 sensors as pairs.

116 (O,R) Engine Coolant (ECT) sensor out of range -> Was the engine warm when you ran the KOER test? See test instruction link below.

You need to rerun the KOER test as the codes were neither valid nor repeated as required. Go here for a good description how to conduct the tests.

The Wells TPS215 throttle position sensor is available from AutoZone for only $18.99 and no waiting. Thought you'd like to know that.

Found the TP sensor at the SHO Shop! Thanks
Your local AutoZone store will have the Wells TPS215 version of the TPS for $18.99, which is about 75% cheaper than the SHO Shop's eek! $79.99.

A-U-T-O-Z-O-N-E

The TPS is on the front of the throttle body, and the O2's are in the y-pipe. If you use the forum's search functions, there are several articles on replacing the components in question.

MI SHO,

The 717 code and the 233 code fall under the catagory of "Codes NOT Listed", and are defined as "Service codes displayed are not applicable to the vehicle being tested".

This information is at the end of the list of codes for the "EEC-IV 3 Digit Codes". These two codes are not listed, and therefore do not apply to your vehicle.

If the TPS is sending a signal "higher voltage than expected" it is most likely due to a faulty sensor (code 124).

If you do not have a vacuum leak, or any other explanation for a lean condition, then the O-2 sensor has stopped "switching". It should flip-flop back and forth between rich and lean continuously. Yours stopped switching, it should be replaced (code 172).

You coolant temperature sensor is sending a signal that is higher or lower than the computer is programmed to expect. If the car is not running very hot or very cold, then the sensor is bad (code 116).

Code 216 indicates the processor (computer) detected a coil 2 primary circuit failure. Check this again. Are you sure it was a 216, and not a 116? If it is correct, you should have a noticable "Miss".

Before replacing the sensors check the sensor connections for good clean connections. Then clear the codes and rerun the tests. If the codes come back, replace the sensors.

DO NOT PULL THE ECT OUT OF A HOT ENGINE! Getting sprayed in the face with 220 degree (f) anti-freeze is most unpleasant! DO use an "O-2 sensor socket" on the O-2 sensors (about $10 at Auto Zone).
Hope this helps, rangerj

The car runs fine,It's just after driving for awile(1/2hour) the CEL turns on.Then you can turn the car off, than back on and it does'nt come on till about half hour of driving.

How do I find out if it's a vacum leak???? I am prob going to take in tonight or tomarrow and have it checked out.

Thanks!! thumbs_u

I suspect your 124 code may be related to blocked EGR nostrils in the intake as opposed to a bad TPS. Search under 'nostrils' for information on how to check them and clean them.
