Where is it? I need it! I just dropped another $400 bucks for 8 spark plugs and 4 coils. This car is might just be my home if it continues to treat me like this.

That is all.

Actually that seems cheap if you got plugs and coils. What brand of coil did you go with. I have seen that the Motorcraft ones are like, $125.00 a piece or more.
I installed new plugs last fall, got 'em at walmart,
Bosch platinum +2's I think they were around $20.00 or so.

I got Well's coil's and Motorcraft AGSF32FM plugs. The plugs were only about 5 bucks each. It's cool though because I finally was able to pull the surge tank by itself in about 20 minutes.

How close is Auburn to Ft. Rucker? In August I leave Wisconsin for Ft. Rucker to start flight school. I will be there for about a year and a half.

The AZ duralast coils I think are the Wells coils also- when I ordered mine, I got 3 Duralast, and one Wells. Exactly the same.

And $400 once is still better than a car payment for God knows how long... ;)

Hey Exitwound, Ft. Rucker is around south central Alabama I think, near Enterprise.

I just checked mapquest and Ft Rucker is right there close to Enterprise and it is 2 and a half hours and 139 miles from Auburn. I used to live in Enterprise when I was 3 years old, my Dad was the associate minister at the Methodist church there. Enterprise is the only town I have seen that has a monument in the center of town paying respect to a bug..... the "Bo Weevil".
Turns out that, back in the day, the area was big in cotton until the Bo Weevil came along and destroyed the cotton crops, then the farmers started growing peanuts and BOOM they all got rich I guess. So.... they put up a fountain in the center of the old downtown and on the top of it is a sculpture of a Bo Weevil. Go figure...... Just a bit of local history for ya.:thumb:

That is good to know. Autozone sells the for $71 a piece and I bought mine for $89 each. If the Autozone truly are wells then i guess I will be buying the next 4 from them. Thanks for that info.

I ordered 4 Duralast coils online from AZ and when they showed up, 3 were Duralast, one was Wells, and they were exactly the same. Now, there is no warranty on the Duralast coils, but if they're the same- meh- good enough for me. I can buy nearly 2 coils for the price of one warrantied coil. I thought about buying one warrantied Wells coil, but never did. I'll dice it. :)

FWIW, I just bought eight Autolite XP103 Iridium plugs from Rock Auto for $4.35 a piece, and there is a $2/plug mail-in rebate right now through Autolite, which brings the total to $2.35 per plug...for Iridiums.

BTW, stock heat range plugs for the V8 are XP104's. I'm running 1 heat range colder.

I just bought the same plugs that came in the car when it was new. At least thats what I was told was in the car when it was new. I figure those will be good enough for the type of driving I do with the car.

When I finished the job last night and was out taking it for a test drive I noticed the "O/D OFF" light was blinking very randomly. There was no pattern or sequence it would just blink so many time then stop for a few minutes then bling gain for so many times then so on..........

Anyone know what might be causing this? The transmission seems to be sufffering no ill affects and is working like it always has even in overdrive.

That's what I thought at first too, the blinks are random and don't make any sense. It will blibk 20 times 1 time 3 times.............. there is no pattern to them the are completely random.

The only problem is the blinks do not repeat themselves at all in any form or fashion. It would be nice to have the codes though.

I'm also running the Iriduims, I'm happy with them so far, but I'm sure the stock plugs would run just as well. I bought them for the rebate. :)

I've never found any info on what the OD blinks mean. Except "be prepared to empty the wallet". I do know when the tranny temp gets over 300F the light will come on. But the O/D light blinking is for any tranny electrical/programming issue which may or may not set a DTC.

I noticed that the blinking was only while it was in 2nd gear and it would take a few seconds for it to come on when it up shifter or down shifted into 2nd. Thats why the blinks were so random. Anywho they seem to have subsided if not completely stopped. Oh well, maybe I will be buying a transmission soon.

Maybe it's the #2 shift solenoid then? It's a ~$20 part, but takes a good 4+ hours to R&R. Still, it's better than replacing a tranny.

If you say money tree it implies that your car is giving you money. I think you mean money pit.
