you sure you got the plug wires right? They are, at the coil pack:

5 1
6 2
4 3

And at the engine:

1 2 3
4 5 6

NOTE THAT 5 AND 6 ON THE COIL PACK ARE REVERSED!

Why Ford did this, nobody will ever know (yeah, I know somebody knows), but I know the Chilton's manual has this wrong. So if you used that, then it just won't work right.

Edit: Also, if you unplugged the cam sensor, did you make sure to plug it back in?

Also: Make sure all the grounds are hooked up. The one big strap that hooks up to the back left intake bracket (looking from the front of the car) is one that a lot of people forget. Also, is the ground wire to the negative battery terminal in good shape?

You probably have the wires mixed up on the coil pack as mentioned.

Although when putting my intake back on, i accidentally pinched a vacuum line between the intake and heads, it tightened down just fine but obviously didnt seal and backfired like crazy.

I'd say you got the wires screwed up

make sure you are 1000% certain that those wires are installed properly.... before looking into anything else

this sounds like a classic case of wires on wrong....

the keyword in your post is misfire

thanks guys you were all right turns out they were mixed up and one of the old boots went bad, my new question is if i can drill and tap the bolts and ports for the egr, I have a mtx(no egr) and an atx(egr) intake. I drilled the main hole but it doesent seem to be hitting the port, I have a feeling it is not hollow on an mtx intake???

The best solution for this that I have found is - you ready for this? - freeze plugs and exhaust cement. For the intake, JB weld or - **** - even RTV would work. Just something to fill the hole.

Wait.

Dude, you got the intake and the car reversed lol. Your last post says that you have an MTX car with an ATX intake, whereas in your sig in your first post you have a 93 ATX, which means you have an ATX car and MTX intake. I don't believe the MTX intake has the port.

I'll tell you what. I have a spare ATX intake. All you need is the back part of the intake. If you want, I can send you my back part (it's stock - and kinda dirty), and after you install it send me your MTX back part back. I'll pay shipping to you, you pay shipping back. Sound good?

PM me if you're interested. I'm not asking for payment, but if you wanna send a few bucks my way, I won't refuse it :naughty: (and yes, Beth, I'll kick a little your way)
