Major Problems Ideas needed!!

Ok this just started about a week ago. When the motor is cold she misses badly back fires no power and put along (brakes my heart) After she warms up she runs alot better all through the rev range. But if i go over half throttle same thing starts happening sputtering and backfireing. I have removed the intake cleaned it, replaced sprakplugs all to no avail. the check engine light does not come on. someone please help. I just got my baby back from my brother and she has bee abused. *cry*

Check the codes, even though the CE light has not been illuminated there are codes that can still be stored that could point you in a direction. It could be multiple things: vaccum leak, DIS, plugs, wires, maybe CPS (doubt it), or a CID. And then it could be other things too, I hope this helps

ok im gonna look around but i figure i'll ask neway how do i test the DIS short of replacing and seeing if it works?

DIS would fail either right at start or after it got hot. That's not your issue.

Backfiring is usually vacuum leak, or timing. Since you mention the car's running well when warm, I'd start looking at air delivery / vacuum leaks first. Unplug the MAF, see if that helps.
