How would a faulty/bad ground affect the MAF???
Some of you may know of the problems I have been having with my car/engine not running correctly and it has had all the symptoms that would point to the MAF not working correctly.
Well, I found recently that the fog lights, (that I installed on the car many years ago), were not working. I checked and found the power wire, which is connected to the battery's positive side, was broken at the connector. I replaced the connector and the lights still would not come on, and I was going to just remove the lights and be done with them. I had the ground wire for the lights connected to the battery on the negative side, (maybe I should not have done that), but anyway, I found the ground wire was broken also. I replaced that connector and grounded it this time to a location on the body of the car. I have driven the car for a few days now without any problems whatsoever. I have driven the car slowly and it shifted perfect, and I have driven at WOT and it shifted perfectly as well. Did I possibly fix the problem with the MAF just by relocating the ground for the fog lights? I know it does sound crazy but I am just happy that my car is back to running perfect again, and as a side note my fog lights seem brighter now also.
Anyone ever experience something like this before?
