So the lumbar support on my drivers seat doesnt work... i hear a motor, or compressor or something working... my side bolsters work and they make the same noise... so im not really sure where to start.. i havent heard much about how the lumbar works, but i think its a bladder that is filled/ releases air... what should be the first think i look at, and how do i go about taking a seat apart.

The lumbar is in fact a bladder that fills with air, if you hear the compressor running ,more than likely one of the hoses got pulled off and that is why it is not filling correctly. Or you could have an air bladder with a hole/rip in it...

To take out the seat you need to remove the 2 mounting bolts, and 2 mounting nuts.... 10mm deep well socket for 3 of them iirc and an 18mm deep well socket for one of them.

Then you should look under the seat and try and find the air hoses, you should be able to do that without dismantling the seats... if all the air hoses seem connected and in good shape then you will have to remove the seat-cover to get to the air blatter... hope that helps

I had a similar problem a few years ago, it turned out to be a hole in the air hose that connects to the bladder. I ended up replacing it with some regular rubber hose (used tiny zip ties as clamps). Been working fine ever since.
