Here it is guys.

Its pretty self explanatory.

First pull off the 2 side panels on the center console:

Then take off the little side panels beside the steering wheel.

Then take the screws out of the center console pieces all the way from the radio to the conter console arm rest...

Once they are all out, start the car, put it in M, then remove the small unit underneath the climate control, itll have 3 plugs on it.

Once thats out, put it in park and turn the car off.

Now remove the passenger airbag cover, and gauge covers too, theres one screw for the gauges, and none for the passenger side.

After these are out, pull the center speaker cover off

After that, remove the screws for the climate control and main cover, and you should be to this point once its out:

Now remove the video screen, and the head unit.

Then install the lockpick wire harness.

It will interface between 3 different connections on the head unit. No way to mess this up.

I then used some cable ties and tidied everything up, dont want any annoying rattles or noises back there!

Then I cable tied my lockpick unit just inside where the glove box goes right onto the metal framing... I also preinstalled a USB cable on to it and then routed it up and over to the right, just above the glove box, so itll drop right down into it and not interfere or make any loose cable rattle noises either.

Now that your here, you can put all the head unit and dash pieces back in in reverse order.... and NO, you shouldnt have left over screws. Then use your laptop and run the updater and your good to go!

Pretty easy!

hmmm for some reason the DVD override doesnt work for me... it does everything correctly except it will not show the dvd while in motion...

Not sure what the issue is yet. The only thing I didnt connect was the GPS antenna option part of the cable. I didnt think it was necessary. Maybe I was wrong.

I really dont wanna tear it all apart just to troubleshoot connectors! lol

Did you make sure to set it to play in motion and have the #3 switch up I believe?

Nate;

If memory serves me correct. There is also a pop-up in the menu screen setup to activate and deactivate the DVD in motion feature.

Also why did you remove the Passenger airbag cover?

The passenger airbag cover has to come off to allow access to the right side 2 screws for that side vent.

I was surprised how much stuff just pops right off that easily.

Yea I have tried it both ways, auto dvd in motion, and with the manual pop up menu, and it just doesnt show the dvd either way.

Ill tear it apart today and connect the GPS antenna cable splice in there and see if it makes the difference. Maybe the lockpick needs to see forward motion or something to enable the screen? IDK.

Just a couple of quick questions...Who makes your LockPick? Also is there more then one company that makes lockpicks? If so, is there one that is better then another? Lastly, does Ford make a lockpick for our vehicles? Thanks.

Ok so i just checked it out and I dont have the nav override either. the only thing that works properly is the rear view camera.

I did however tear the car apart again and connect the GPS antenna cable, and it made no difference at all....

So anyway heres some more pics of some stuff I left out, Ill update my original post.

oh and heres the connector that i had left undone....

it only shows 1 end disconnected in the pic, but I had left the lockpick harness disconnected at both sides, didnt want anyone thinking I left one end just dangling in there.

Well I spoke with coastal tech today and they are saying after troubleshooting with me over the phone that 2010SHO didnt uninstall it correctly. Its still married to his car and it wont be useable until it gets reinstalled in his car and uninstalled correctly...

bummer.

Not sure what were gonna do about it, he seems like a stand up guy so Im waiting on a PM from him to see what path we should take here.

After driving around a little more, the option for the rear view while driving doesnt even show up any more now...

So now I have a useless unit. I guess on the positive side I am a pro now at installing this thing and can have it done in like 20 minutes start to finish... lol

Well, that certainly is a bummer. Can you send the unit back to Coastal and have them reprogram it so that it is usable?

So sorry to hear about this Nate. I hope that you get this worked out soon. I really appreciate the time that you took to post the pictures and a write-up of the install though. I do plan on getting one of these Lockpicks soon and will definitely reference your work here when that happens. The only reason that I passed on 2010sho's Lockpick was because I'm between jobs right now and really shouldn't be spending money on "luxury items" as the girlfriend calls them. :frown:
Hope you get this resolved :salute:
