Spoke with Matt this morning and ordered an SCT + Tunes.

Intend to make an equal comparison between GH and Livernois in the upcoming months.

Drive to track, load stock tune...make a run
Return to pit area, load GH tune...make a run
Return to pit area, load Livernois tune...make run

With allotted 'cool down time's I feel this is the best way to get a fair comparison of both tunes. No 'tranny learn' phase for either, same climate, same track, same track preparations, etc...

Side note: main reason for opting to switch to GH was because of shifting issues from Livernois and I'd like to get into data logging as I know future modifications (IC upgrade, meth) are on their way in the near future.

I'll keep this board posted in my findings.
Curious of the results. I switched to GH from LMS but haven't made it to the track with the GH tune yet and when I do the car will have different wheels/tires and will be on springs, plus they closed the track I was using down so way to many variables to compare.

My main concern between the 2, are short times.

1/8 et and 1/8 speed

Everyone knows these cars aren't good for roll races, but thrive stoplight to stoplight. Where most dig races, the car behind when 70-80ish rolls around, they tend to give up anyways.

So for that I'm curious to see which one holds the edge...even knowing its going to be fractional.

The 1/8 mile time difference is just about null.... it’s a drivers race..... GH makes up the difference on the big end...

I would be concerned with drive-ability between the two and what you like.

Hey all, just ordered the Gearhead tune after reading over 200 messages I accidentally backed out and lost my spot. I gathered I need the colder motorcraft plugs gapped between .026-.028. I’ll get those. 3 BAR MAP sensor, should I just order that and the thermostat from LMS? Looking to have it done by next weekend and to the track the following week if all goes well. Suggestions?

From my experience with the two the lms v11 digs a little better and the GH pulls harder.. I am trying to get back out
with some new tunes from both do some logs for Matt if the weather ever breaks..

My v11 tune (has the one update) is where the shifting problems began to surface. I tried reaching out to LMS on two occasions and didn't get it resolved or answered.

So, I decided to go with GH and see how that goes. Also to have the data logging ability because the IC upgrade is following soon...very soon.

My guess is it will be similar results between the GH AO and LMS 93 tunes as yours but still like to see for us basic 3bar/stat/CAI or similar guys. Agree with being more concerned about drive-ability between both as there are very noticeable differences between the 2.

I was one of the fortunate ones with no trans issues.. But i would run lean on the hwy when i would kit down and punch it.. You will love the GH tune and the IC.. I know guys don't want to spend the money as i was one but a hpfp is nice..

I had 1-2 shift issues, never 2-3 like some others. I did have hesitation issues on the highway when it was cooler out. Logs are new to me but I logged my LMS tune before swiching to the GH tune. With the LMS tune fuel pressure dropped like a rock, GH was double rail pressure in the same weather. The GH is nicer in day to day NY traffic.

My SCT from Matt at Gearhead arrived today and my Gearhead intercooler ships out next week.

I'm a little giddy about this, much like when I ordered all my LMS stuff.

From what I've read, the IC upgrade alone is good for 40hp...not to mention the ridiculously lower IAT numbers.

I haz a happy

I'm not doubting it as the shifting issues with my v11 tune have driven me far past annoyed.

The IC install will probably wait a while (depending on when it arrives) so its like... weeeeellll, I should because it's there... type of thing

I was wondering if you could just spray the stock IC with nitrous or CO2 to get the same effect? Does anybody run a small shot with these motors?

For the amount of money you would invest into a system to spray the cooler, plus constantly monitor/refill it, you would be better off installing the upgraded IC and wouldn't have to worry about monitoring or refilling it.
