I either have to lean the mix more than I do for gasoline or drop boost to keep up with fuel demand on E30. The reason this was making more power on stock cars was that the lower boost higher timing combo was delaying intercooler heat soak at the track. With the intercooler upgrade, this is no longer a concern.

So Matt: I have your AO tune and as you can read from my posts in this thread - absolutely love it! Can I move to the E30 tune without a HPFP? If I can, what do you think I'll see in gains?

Dyno Jet. Going to try and get back to the dyno next week to see if I can crack 400.

Just so how I'm clear...you actually need to get (or make) E30 fuel, for an E30 tune....correct?

Most states gas is e10 already. You get e30 by mixing the appropriate amount of e85 into your tank, usually 2-4 gallons. Their are online calculators that can tell you how much to add. I don't run it, I was just posting what was in SM's signature.

Yes I mix my own fuel. It is fairly easy. I have a calculator on my phone and I usually can get to within a half gallon of how much fuel I need to add. Here in Phx I have 91 octane (E10) and I have E54 that comes out of the pump. At a quarter tank I roughly need 14 gallons of fuel. So roughly 7 gallons of E54 and 7 gallons of 91 gives me an "E" rating of 32%. So E32. That puts my gas at a 98 octane. With the resistance to LSPD (Low Speed Pre Detonation) it allow me to run more boost and more timing. I alway add the E54 first then, the 91 octane. It helps it mix.

I should be able to purchase the intercooler pretty soon as well. With that, it will only make the SHO run better and more efficient. Add a HPFP on top, and I should be able to run a very wild E54 tune.

I can't believe I completely forgot to include this in my review of GH tune!!..... one thing I absolutely LOVE about my new GH tune is when I have the transmission in S mode it rev-matches beautifully! As I'm slowing down, the car down-shifts noticeably and with my custom Magnaflow system it creates some very nice rumbles & crackles! LMS had a very minor rev-match, almost like stock.

Forgive me if I digress. If I have your formula right, and I have available E85, along with 93 octane using up to 10% ethanol, I can get to that same 32% by adding 10 gallons of 93 and 4 gallons of E85?

I'm sure it's at least 4 gallons of E85. I've been adding about 2-3 gallons of E85 with 93 Octane and I don't have an E30 tune. I only do this when the tank is very near empty. Put in the E85 first then top with 93. I'm not sure what "E" or octane level this gives me but the car runs great on the Gearhead AO tune.

2 gallons of e85 to 5 gallons of e10 is my usual ratio to make e30.

Yes sir, my calculator says E31 for that setup.

If you run an ethanol sensor :). Too much to go wrong otherwise.

What range does your AO tune cover - meaning is it from 91 - 100 octane or what range? Yesterday I put about 3 gallons of E85 then filled the rest with 93. I'm not sure what octane this gives me but car is doing fine. How high can I go....?
