I ran a 93 Livernois tune (4+) in my 2010 Flex from Naples to IA and back at Christmas a couple years ago (SCT Tuner version) and never had a bit of problems with cold or with fuel. Bought gas in NE Illinois and in ST Louis area where they often have different blends and not a bit of stall or hesitation. Vehicle felt no different than with my Torrie tunes.

This appears to be a 13+ problem. There are a couple of issues on the other board, one being an Xsport that doesn't live that far from me. I've not loaded the tune in the wifes Xsport just for that very reason. I run the stage 2 or 4+ in the SHO daily. No issues ever.

I haven't resorted to removing the tune yet. Whatever it is, it doesn't seem to think there's a problem (no codes or lights). I'm not a tuner so I don't know a huge amount about this but I understand this stuff to be lookup tables across a matrix of values and ranges, or at worst, linear algebra... whatever it's doing has to be because certain conditions are met.

Anyone know what I need to do to log this on my laptop?

Has anyone at LMS been able to recreate the problem? I can recreate it deterministically.

On another note, today driving home I experienced, for the first time, a long hesitation on a passing maneuver: I floored it from highway cruising speed in sport mode and it took a solid second to respond--like I hadn't pressed the throttle at all for about a second. Good thing I wasn't cutting anyone off.

Just to be clear: I do like my Taurus :)

I have a a 2013 SHO with 13k miles on it, and since October have had EVERY problem you guy's are also having.... Hesitation, shifting from 1-2 hits the rev limiter like it was in neutral etc. Right before thr holiday's they sent me the CW tune, and DID NOT MAKE A DIFFERENCE..... exact same problems (all of them) I also bought their colder plug, gaped at .030, and installed the 170 stat. THEY OBVIOUSLY HAVE A MAJOR PROBLEM HERE, now that I'm about 1k into this tune, and still have problem's, I'm not looking to bad Mouth LMS, I just want the problems fixed. LOVE MY SHO, but the other day, I got embarrassed by a little import that I can clearly beat, but when I went to go into passing gear when he went to go around me, it was hesitating big time, so I just lifted...... I CANT BE HAVING THAT....LOL

Hey, guys I had to join this forum to chime in on this thread. I have a 13 SHO w/PP, K&N CAI, Dynamaxt cat. back exaust. I have 13k miles on it, I bought the LMS Tune in October, and since DAY 1 have had the same issues with the 93 tune. Hesitation/ surging after 4000 rpm (pretty bad at times) Trans feeling like it shifts into neutral when going WOT from a stop, like if you missed a gear on a manual trans . I have done EVERYTHING they have asked, I even bought their colder plug, and 170 thermostat, plugs gaped at .030 like they said, they even sent me the CW tune a couple weeks ago, and IT HAD ALL THE SAME EXACT PROBLEMS. I have contacted Anthony via email to give him a update on the CW tune , which like I mentioned, was also a fail. I'm waiting to hear back from him to see what they would like to do to rectify these problems. (2 days and no response yet) Has anyone with these problems gotten any update yet??? if so, please post to let us know. It just kills me that I have about 1k invested in this whole thing, and I have to drive the car back in stock mode, cause I'm convinced, these problems CANNOT be good for the car. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one. If I just had to guess at what was causing the problem, half the time I would blame the traction control algorithms, the other half I would blame the engine control algorithms, which I'm sure are both very interrelated...
I'm still driving with the tune because I just haven't gone out to the car to detune. I will this week to see if it goes away.

While it is commendable that Livernois has apparently fixed the tune problem for some people, it has taken almost 2 months or more in this instance. To me this is completely unacceptable. I can guarantee that Torrie would have fixed the issue within a day or 2. In part because when you use SCT tuners, you can datalog and send the logs to your tuner, whether it is Torrie or someone else that uses SCT tuners, and will work with you and the logs you send.

What perplexes me is that I also have Livernois tunes for my Flex, and while using them, both here in FL and in Iowa in the winter, where it was very cold, I had no issues.
However, these were designed for my SCT tuner and not their My Cal, which is basically a Hypertech system.

While I realize there are many Livernois loyalists that wouldn't go anywhere else, it seems to me that when Torrie is cheaper and much more responsive, it is a no-brainer to go where the service, value and responsiveness to specific needs is second to none.

I haven't heard of anyone with an SCT or MyCal having problems with their 2010-12. The problems seem to all be related to the new ECU coding. I don't know if LMS had tunes for the 13's yet last winter. I don't think so. I agree two months is far to long for existing customers to wait. But, on the other hand, I don't feel comfortable running an Unleashed tune without data logging. For me data logging is a pain I can live with out. I'm just happy I have a 2012 and enjoy my conservative tune to it's fullest extent.

One issue needs to be cleared up once and for all... YOU DO NOT NEED TO DATA LOG TO USE TORRIE'S TUNES... Because Torrie offers extra-ordinary service he will tweak your tune package for mods, for better fuel mileage, octane offerings in your area, etc, if you send him data logs. IF YOU WANT TORRIE'S TUNES AND DON'T WANT TO DATA LOG... YOU DON'T HAVE TO!!!!

I am currently running Torries best original canned tune ( one you will get when you buy his tuner and tune package - before any data logging) without doing any data logging. I have run this tune for over 6,000 miles with absolutely no issues nor any reason to data log and have Torrie modify the tune.

This is the tune that I ran when I made my comparison with Livernois stage 4 or 4+ ( whatever their best SCT Tune was labeled), and where my 1/8 mile times averaged .2 and 2 mph faster with Torrie's tune vs Livernois. I had both of their tunes on my computer and in SCT tuner for over a year before I decided to go from stock back to being tuned. Neither tune was modified for my down pipes, my 3rd cat and mid-muffler delete or my CAI and 170 deg T-stat. Happened at Cedar Falls Raceway, Cedar Falls, IA in October 2013 - temp in mid 70's.

Once I again go with W/M system and/or a 3 bar sensor, I will data log and have Torrie modify/re-send me my old tunes, updated for my current strategy code, which is different than when I was previously spraying.

Bob, Most guys know you don't HAVE to data log with Torrie's tunes. Best of luck with the new tunes when you get your W/M system and/or 3 Bar.

When you said it ran .2 and 2 mph faster.....you ran both tunes the same day with the same conditions? Equal time to cooldown or not? I ask because the wonderful thing about the SCT is the ability to hold multiple tunes. I may purchase an Unleashed Tune and run one, then run the other and report back.

Sorry, I didn't even realize they approved my post... YES they worked with me personally, and modified a couple tunes until a tune worked. It's not as aggressive as the 93 tune, but they said they will make a new tune with the changes and make it into a 93 tune. I was wondering, is there a system that I can get to change things myself, and to data logging when running the LMS tune?
